While Japanese otakus have been fapping to kawaii nekos for years, the English-speaking west is only now getting to enjoy the phenomenon. This game was made for Windows operating systems, it has Japanese voice acting, and English text. Published by Denpasoft, developed by Whirlpool. Release date April 21, 2017. STORY
You play as the male protagonist Haruki. He is blessed to have two catgirl sisters land on his doorstep. Yura is older than her sister, she’s energetic, and dutiful. Tama is the younger sister, she is childish and always hungry. And these aren’t just any catgirl sisters; they are ninjas! They call Haruki their master, they’re here to protect him as his personal shinobi. They come from a catgirl ninja village, that Haruki has never heard of before. Despite their super sexy appearance, Haruki is too cucked and traumatized by childhood rejections, that he doesn’t want anything to do with them. But these pussycats are not only persistent, but hungry. Haruki tries half-heartedly to shoo them away, but after discovering they live in a plastic pig at the local playground, he decides to take them in.
And so, the three go through everyday hijinks as master and shinobi. The two sisters hide in the ceiling while Haruki is at school, Yura enters an eating competition, they agree to have a polyamorous relationship after their genitals touched. Lots of fun times here. However, in the shadows, it would appear there’s a conspiracy against Haruki and the two ninjas carried out by the mysterious transfer student, Aya Suzuki.
I don’t want to spoil the big plot twist or anything, but there’s a kidnapping, a semi-incestuous threesome, and even the introduction of a third sexy catgirl ninja. Tama and Yura also show off their badass side, kicking lots and lots of butts!
It’s every weeaboo’s dream to have an anime catgirl love you, willing to do anything you ask. But in Neko-nin Exheart, these circumstances are a little creepy when you think about things. Yura and Tama have been, from their earliest childhood, taught to serve Haruki. They were taught how to protect him, how to serve him, and even how to please him in bed. Without ever meeting him before the events that take place, the catgirls are both completely brainwashed into being in love, to give their lives for him, like some catgirl Hitler Youth.
GRAPHICS
Let’s talk about the art… Holy shit, the art is yummy. After I reviewed the decent, but amateurish Love, Guitars, and the Nashville Skyline, I was really craving for my next Nutaku release, to be more visually pleasing. NEKO-NIN delivered the goods. The lines, colors, and shading are gorgeously soft. In fact, you can barely see the lines at all, they’re so tiny. The boobies, butts, and thighs, have the nicest shading, that amplifies the feel of their shape. All the lady bits looked so juicy, I was masturbating through the experience, sometimes to the sprites alone.
The character art is not flat-colored, with crazy static gravity-defying anime hair. This is not some cheaply done throwaway trash. The Japanese anime style was originally invented to be economic with the consumption of time, most evident in the face style. But as generations of artists have developed the style further, you now see anime art of excruciating detail. NEKO-NIN goes all the way with production quality, offering well-polished, modern-looking hentai artwork, to improve your prostate health. It’s a good blend of realism, and tastefully exaggerated anime ingredients mixed in.
The sprites alone are good fap fuel, but it’s the CGs that really shine. In addition to everything I mentioned above, the vaginas are deliciously well-drawn. The pussies look especially beautiful with a big dick digging between the fleshy folds.
MUSIC
The music is mostly generic eroge crap. You got your slow piano piece for scenes with tension, your happy upbeat schoolday theme, et cetera. It’s definitely not bad, and it can be infectiously catchy at times (especially the menu theme!), but it’s not exactly anything special. The voice acting is really good, though.
It’s difficult to write about the music without sounding like a broken record. I’ve said this of a few eroge I’ve reviewed: it all begins to sound the same. It’s not bad music by any means, but it has a definite lack of originality in the way it’s written. I almost get a deja-vu sometimes, and I’m almost convinced the songs in Neko-nin are recycled from another game, but I’ll chalk it up to uninspired composing.
VOICE ACTING AND SOUND EFFECTS (SFX)
Tama is voiced by actress Maeda Kei. She voiced Kuchiki Touko in Kara no Shoujo, its sequel and the anime adaptation. Yura is voiced by Takamori Natsumi, she’s had many minor roles in games, and anime, including the Muv-Luv games. She also voiced the student council president in High School DxD. Your classmate, Aya, is voiced by Sanada Akane, who’s played a lot of roles in imouto-themed incest games, including Cross Days, Imouto Paradise 2, Sis Koi, Onii-chan Sharing, and Ero Manga!
The third sexy catgirl, Nachi, is voiced by Nakamura Asami. You may know her as Ethy, in Sakura Fantasy. She was also Ririna, in Imouto Paradise 2. My favourite role of hers is from a game called Gachinko! Bitch Club.
Overall, the cast for this game includes experienced eroge voice actresses. They do an incredible job here, with the exception of going balls to the wall with Yura’s verbal tick. Yura says “Nin!” every thirty seconds. Like literally every line is ended with “Nin!” I know this is more an issue with the writers, but the actress made damn sure everytime she said “Nin!” she did it in the highest-pitched voice possible. I muted the game after an hour.
The game makes a blip blip sound when you click on buttons. When you pull up a menu, the game spits Japanese words at you. I can’t understand Japanese so I’m not sure what it’s trying to tell me.
HENTAI
The kitties, brainwashed from childhood, are constantly trying to get in your pants. Once they break you with their cuteness, they get their sex milk. There are a number of sex scenes. In one, Yura crawls in to bed next to you, another one has Tama giving you a tittyfuck under the desk while you talk with a classmate, followed by a moneyshot and some illicit classoom fucking. These are all accompanied by the super high quality CGs I mentioned before. There’s a lot of sexy pics to look at; there are five sex scenes total, and each scene has two main CGs, which have five, or six variations. Considering the length of the game, that’s a fair amount of banging.
CONCLUDING WORDS
The story is really just an excuse for a sexy catgirl ninja fantasy. They try to add the tiniest bit of tension here and there, but ultimately, it’s a sexy catgirl ninja fantasy, designed into fap fuel. They pander to otakus with ninja catgirls, then throw more sexual shit on top: two-girl kitty harem, Yura wears a cheongsam, Tama calls you “onii-chan”, and more fetish-pandering I whole-heartedly welcome.
The bottom line is this: it’s mostly a feel-good game. It stays fun and light-hearted throughout the whole thing, and besides the end, the conflict is, for the most part, resolved comedically. Everything comes together; the cute artwork, the adorable characters, the story, even the happy generic music. It really gets you loving these girls.
