STORY
Lida must solve the mystery of her husband’s disappearance. She is quick to get a new job and roommates. Can she find his man before the strange men surrounding her make their move?
While Lida is supposed to be searching for her husband, the game is more of a collection of random sex scenes than an adventure. The writing gets confusing, and even manages to contradict itself on occasion. The problems start at the very beginning. The story starts with multiple flashbacks before Lida begins her search. The story is told with Lida as the point-of-view character and the narrator. The writer clearly tried to do something different and unique, but the final product is difficult to understand.
The game gives you too much information. Unless you have a pencil and paper nearby, you’ll easily forget the very important things the characters say, leaving you wandering the world without a clue what to do.
You can work at the clothing store, bar, vehicle shop, brothel, farm, or on the street as a dancing girl.
Numerous plot lines are introduced and never brought up again. For example, Lida’s old friend named “Cloud” is sharing dirty photos of Lida to everyone in town. Apparently Lida used to be a total whore before meeting her husband. The questions raised are never fully answered, as the story moves on and everyone forgets the asshole that shared Lida’s nudes.
First build of this game was released back in July 2016, but consequent updates have expanded on the story over the years. As of January 2019, there’s enough content for eighth hours of play. The writing is far from good, but it’s there if you like studying subpar erotic fiction for the laughs.
GAMEPLAY
Lida’s Adventures was created in the RPG Maker engine. Use the arrow keys to move your character and navigate the over-world map. There is no dialogue skip function. There is no recollection room to revisit scenes.
The gameplay is slow and clunky. There are numerous long-running glitches in the game that the developer has not fixed. He continues adding more content even when the game is barely playable in its current state.
For example , the game tracks how slutty your character is with “whoredom” requirements. You need to reach certain levels to access new sex scenes in the game. Sadly, these requirements are bugged, breaking any immersion players had in the game. What’s the point of having the feature, if it doesn’t even work?
On top of that, the game forces you into a very repetitive gameplay loop all the time! Every day, you’ll need to interact with the refrigerator, toilet, and shower. This takes two minutes of your time for no reason whatsoever. By the end of your playthrough, at least a full hour of your time was wasted on unnecessary game loops that you’re forced to do for no good reason.
GRAPHICS
Lida’s Adventures uses 3D CGs mass produced with the Daz3D. While the use of 3D graphics allows for fast production of many sex scenes, it limits the visual presentation. There are things the average developer using Daz3D simply cannot do because they can’t create it with existing assets. Nearly every asset in this game was created by other users of the software. The stuff is publicly available for download for any developer with access to the internet. Although the body proportions of the characters are accurate, the models all look similar. And you’ve likely seen these models in other games and comics that rip the same stuff. For masturbation purposes, recycled assets wouldn’t even be an issue if the porn was good.
Most characters never change their outfits, and will look exactly the same even after ten hours.
The animated sex scenes look very nice, but repeat the loops for a little too long. You’ll be staring at an animation loop for at least five minutes before you can progress. It’s beyond annoying to experience.
VOICE ACTING AND SOUND EFFECTS (SFX)
Lida’s Adventures has no voice acting.
Most of the game has generic stock sound effects that you can download from the RPG Maker asset store. The content is royalty-free. When the sounds are not generic, they are absolutely terrible. The sound of ejaculation for example sounds sound you’re opening a bag of potato chips! The audio design is very amateurish.
MUSIC
There are 46 songs on the soundtrack, most of which are either licensed or available from the RPG Maker asset store – royalty-free, of course. None of them are memorable, and most of them are digitally synthesized. Some songs break the mold and are downright fantastic, but your barely hear them! One track in particular relies on a mixture of piano and bass to create a lively and energetic tune that I enjoyed! I heard my favorite song maybe two times in my entire time playing.
HENTAI
Lida’s Adventures has easily over 30 sex scenes total.
The fuck scenes feature sex positions ranging from doggystyle to gangbang. The scenes are not very original, or inspired. In one of the dumbest scenes in the game I simply walked in on two people having sex. The whole encounter was disconnected from any kind of story and felt pointless. The presentation did not hype up the taboo element, it was just two people having sex on a beach. In contrast, the most memorable scene for me was Lida’s strip poker event with the new tenants of her house. The scene stopped before any penetration, and there was never a “rematch” to capitalize on the sexual tension.
The best scenes featured groping on a bus, and a scene where Lida extracted semen at her job. The scenarios were cool and unexpected. But the good content is, sadly, drowned in an ocean of garbage.
CONCLUDING WORDS
Lida’s Adventures follows the classic corruption plotline of a woman getting seduced by strange men. Some of the scenarios are absolutely orgasmic, and some of the plot points start out interesting. The game suffers from inconsistent quality and bugs that eat away at your gaming pleasure. If you want to witness the terribadness of one of the worst Patreon games to have ever come out of crowdfunding, it’s available for free for porn-addicted masturbators without standards.
