However, this time around, he encounters more challenges as he is unable to defeat the demon queen alone. She has taken measures to become impervious to male heroes. Bitch! Support and other services Otakusexart!
STORY
Tomokazu used to be one of those heroes who got isekai’d and saved another world. Then he got dropped off back on earth where he tries to make a buck by selling yaoi magazines to horny girls. He somehow pisses off his publishers and they opt to drown him for costing them money. Thankfully, he is summoned by a bitchy mage Fubaki, and a noble warrior Ayumi.
The girls inform him that he must save the world (again), but the new Demon Lord has made it so he can only use his OP skills in a coaching role. Together, Tomokazu, Ayumi and Fubaki embark on a quest to find allies, defeat the Demon Lord and hopefully get some pussy along the way.
This game has a fantastic story, given it’s a hentai and an isekai harem. While it’s still a generic ‘defeat the demon lord isekai’s tale, what set this title apart for me was the use of characters. This game has like a dozen girls to collect. That is a lot of main characters to write for, but we are given a story and an arc for each and every one.
Ayumi desperately wants to become stronger and suffers from low self-confidence, while Fubaki holds a grudge over Tomokazu breaking her older sister’s heart during his last visit. Tomoya is a priest and member of a noble family. Before Tomokazu arrived, she traveled with another summoned hero, who she fell in love with, but the Demon Lord slayed him. Now gone, she promised to never fall in love ever again. You have Sachi, an incompetent Assassin whose antics I found hilarious. This girl kills people for a living but passes out at the sight of blood.
There are other characters as well, which fall into the normal tropes like Princess, Maid and oddly enough, a very gloomy Necromancer. Basically, there is a character for everyone and they have get a chance to shine. Real character development in a hentai isekai is rare as fuck. I’m really we got this much focus.
GAMEPLAY
Levelling Up Girls in Another World is a Visual novel. You advance the story by clicking the screen and “turning the pages”. The game has multiple choices. Some have low impact, while others influence which girl you end up with. There are multiple endings to, including a ‘bad’ ending I suppose. The menu screen has a different layout from previous Winged Cloud games. There is a Gallery option where you can view game artwork. Use the ‘auto’ and ‘skip’ buttons to speed through dialogue you already read. Some choices unlock new CGs. The game has basic visual novel functionality. There are plenty of save slots available.
The game also uses a battle system where you have to match tiles together to ‘attack’ and ‘level up’ as the title of the game suggests. You can combo them for even bigger attacks. You use your skills equipment to grow even stronger. One aspect about this game that is somewhat cumbersome is the fact that every new girl that joins your party starts at Level 1 and the last girl to join your party happens 20% away from the climactic battle. This results in a lot of grinding, but the game can be completed using only two or three of your favorite characters.
The game features a Dungeon Crawler experience where you can either end up travelling towards monsters or treasure. On the Visual Novel side, there are a multitude of rewards available for leveling up different girls. Most of these include unlocking more scenes.
Much like a real isekai adventure, there is a Quest Board where you can get loot and money for completing tasks. The quests pay and there are dozens of them to complete. The game has a few glitches. One involves the tutorial conversations in the ‘background info’ section either repeating or being shown despite the topic it relates to already having passed.GRAPHICS
On par with Winged Cloud’s typical artwork, the CGs in this game are crisp and beautiful with lots of vibrant colors. There are over 60 CGs (some with variants) that you unlock as you progress through the game. Depending on your choices, you may not unlock a certain CG. The art style is gold tier quality and always fun to look at or sexy to fap to. The characters all have cute designs with plump bodies and generous boobies. Their differing hairstyles, attire and personalities perfectly manage to distinguish each girl from the next.
This game is packed with beautifully drawn backgrounds. Taverns, caves, plains, forests, cities–you name it, there is a location for it. The rich detail in some of the outdoor settings compliments the character sprites. Shadows are light while edge lines are thin. Certain artworks show off the artist’s skill in rendering magnificent looking water.
SOUND EFFECTS AND VOICE ACTING (SFX)
Leveling Up Girls in Another World has no voice acting. Sound effects are extremely limited. Throughout the game I managed to notice some abstract noises, but that’s about all.
MUSIC
I was genuinely surprised by the music. The soundtrack feels like a perfect fit for a sword and sorcery adventure. Soundtrack doesn’t have any standout songs, but I found none of the songs generic or distracting. It genuinely feels like music perfectly blends into the game play like a chameleon does its surroundings. The music uses real instruments including the guitar, violin, xylophone, flute, keyboard and several wind instruments.
What is really enjoyable about the songs is that whilst playing the game, I genuinely felt like I had been transported to a magical other world. Most tracks have that classical sword and sorcery vibe going for it. unfortunately there aren’t really very dark or ominous tracks for when a plot twist happens or something genuinely bad.
HENTAI
By far the most rewarding sex scene for me occurs at the very end of the game where you finally get to face-fuck Fubuki, who up until this point, had been a complete bitch. She deserved to suck on Tomokazu’s cock and watching her complain about having to fuck him was very lewd. In another scene, Tomokazu is temporarily transported into the mind and body of a female kidnapper where he gets to experience a yuri scene with another member of his party. he purposely waits until everyone has cummed at least once before making his move because he wants to experience a female orgasm and he also wants his female harem member to have one too.
Sometimes, the game will purposely not have two characters have a sexual experience in order to first build a romantic connection. One such event is with Tomoya, who spends most of the game trying to collect her feelings over her lost love while happily letting Tomokazu fuck her maid Mikako. It’s a very rewarding moment when the two finally do have sex. The CG depicts them doing it up against a glass door, pressing Tomoya’s tits into it.
CONCLUDING WORDS
Leveling Up Girls in Another World is not your run of the mill Winged Cloud game. It is part VN, part RPG, part quest, part dungeon crawler and part cute. There is something for everyone, be it perverts getting off on cute girls getting fucked, intellectuals who want to experience a fun romp that runs on Konosuba levels of logic or players who just want to mash buttons in Winged Cloud’s latest installment. As always, the artwork is beautiful with a lot of very interesting and lewd sex scenes (if you play with the Patch).
