The jingles keep you in a great mood throughout the ride. The style and tone fits the otherworldly theme of the game. The silly upbeat songs make the musical score stand out with a number of songs. During sex, the music fades out.

 GAMEPLAY

The Grim Reaper Who Reaped My Heart is a kinetic novel game. You click the screen to “turn the page”. The game has very limited visual novel functionality. ‘Skip’ and ‘Auto’ options are available through keyboard controls only. There are no galleries or anything extra. The story is linear with no branching routes or choices.

GRAPHICS

The game features animated CGs. The attention to detail is extraordinary. The light that reflects off the screen and onto Vel’s face also flickers periodically. The screenshots do not do justice to the live visuals.

Vel is a cute, but generic anime heroine. You just wanna give her a hug and protect her from the rest of the world. Her boobs are big and plump and super inviting. Dying after being smothered in those things wouldn’t be the worst way to go. 

Sprites in the game have limited animations in their respective scenes. Expressions sometimes feature anime-like exaggerations. Backgrounds have limited detail with dull, boring colors that are usually obstructed by characters taking up most of the screen. Lighting in the game is dim and makes you feel like you’re dying.
