The writing in this game is terrible. This is the final and completed version of the game, but there’s a typo even in the main menu. Outside of the bad grammar and spelling, there isn’t an overall story to tie things together.

Your stepmother Helen is very lonely, and your totally unrelated sister Stephanie just wants to fit in. The sister’s story line has the better plot of hte two ladies. She wants you to teach her about sex.

The game is super linear. Talk to a girl and read through events, then solve a puzzle to earn a sex scene. The game ends after you’ve impregnated both women. The story is damn predictable.

GAMEPLAY

Puzzled Life is a visual novel created in the Unity Game Engine. This means the game is prone to randomly stopping, glitching, or freezing entirely. Closing this game might be difficult when that happens. There is no dialogue skip button, everything is done by mouse. If this game was created in Renpy, none of these problems would exist.

Although the game features a world map, it’s a largely superficial feature. Click a location, find the girl, and click on her to initiate dialogue. Progressing the story requires the completion of various puzzles.

If you’ve played Sudoku, you can easily handle these puzzles. One puzzle type is a simplified variation on Sudoku, while the others require the same level of logic. There is nothing special or revolutionary to talk about.

Playing the game you may unlock “puzzle skips”, to bypass a puzzle that proves too difficult for you. Outside of the main story, you can do optional “puzzle cards” to see sexy photos that don’t advance the story.

On multiple occasions, I completed a scene, but it was unavailable in the gallery. This game is buggy.

GRAPHICS

The art is comprised of 3D CGs and animations. Each character has realistic body proportions and mannerisms.

Stephanie is your busty virgin stepsister, and she’s a total cutie. She looks like a realistic young lady, with an average face and a humble demeanor. Banging the MILF is nice, but Stephanie is definitely best girl.

I love that each character in this game has a realistic facial structure. They aren’t picture perfect. They have flaws, their faces aren’t fully symetrical, and that’s okay. There are no anorexic bleach blondes in this game.

The absurd dick size of your character is laughable. It makes for a great porno, but also pulls you out of the moment. A more realistic dick size would make the sex scenarios more believable.

There are short animations throughout the game. For example, you have an animated handjob and a simple sex loop in the cowgirl position. The problem is, the animations aren’t always fluid, and they’re usually too short. Most of the times, the girl will not drop herself fully onto the dick. She only takes in the tip.

VOICE ACTING AND SOUND EFFECTS (SFX)

Puzzled Life has no voice acting.

Sound effects are limited and most commonly used during puzzles. The sounds only play when you confirm an action, or when the game gives you positive feedback on something you did. This is fine, but I wish a more diverse array of sound effects were used, especially during sexual sequences. The fucking is way too silent without lewd audio cues.

Puzzled Life has no musical score.

Puzzled Life has 26 sex scenes, most of which feature your stepmom and stepsister. Players can input a cheat code to remove the “step” from their names, if you so choose.

Featured sex positions are the typical cowgirl and missionary. Animations are often flawed but still erotic to view. Dialogue is predictable but believable. This is a very middle of the road erotic experience.

The game ends when you have a threesome with your stepmom and stepsister, getting both of them pregnant. Many players think that’s the best scene, but I disagree! The absolute best scene is when you’re fucking the stepsister on a nude beach and someone catches you! He doesn’t blackmail you or anything, he just smirks and moves on! That was hot!

Vaginal sex comes late in the game. Most of the scenes are a slow burn with a focus on handjobs and groping. This makes the creampies all the more exciting when you finally get to them!

By that point, your hypnosis will be strong enough to unlock all of the embarrassing secrets that the townspeople are hiding. Simply speak to them to hear their dirty thoughts. You’re the duke of town, you can do as you please!

Once your hypnotic powers are strong enough, kill the succubus and become the next duke of Aron.

GAMEPLAY

Nobleman’s Retort was created with RPG Maker. Press spacebar to interact with objects and people. Press SHIFT to run. Press CTRL to skip dialogue when you grow exhausted from reading.

The game cycle is a unique twist on your classic RPG Adventure game. Defeat enemies to level up, and go to bed to restore your health. Leveling up will unlock new skills that make your battles go by easier and faster, allowing for more exploration. What’s the twist? You do not receive experience points for killing enemies! Instead you receive magical “shards” which you feed to your characters. This feature makes it possible to avoid dungeon crawling segments.

For example, you can go the bar and hypnotize an adventurer into giving you all of their magical shards. These shards can either be used to level up your character, or level up the adventurer. By the end of the game, you’ll be sending out multiple adventurers on many different expeditions and raking in the shards.

Basically, you can play the game as a classic dungeon crawling RPG, or you can play it as a simulator where you manage underlings who do the work for you.

There is a feature in the game that is only available to hyper-observant players. On the far right side of town, there is a gray staircase. Walk up the staircase to find the blacksmith’s shop. You can purchase better weapons and armor for your character at the smithy. Plenty of players miss this shop, don’t let that be you!

There is a note on a table in the player’s home that’s a comprehensive game-guide. If anything about the game is unclear, just visit your house. However, if you’re looking for hints where to unlock sex scenes, you’ll need to travel to the recollection room instead. Some sex scenes are exclusive to your time as a peasant or monarch. If you already passed the peasant phase, simply go back to the corpse of the succubus. You’ll be taken back in time.

GRAPHICS

The art is traditional Japanese anime style. If it seems at all familiar, its because this artist has worked on many other games from circle Clymenia, such as the incredibly erotic Civilian Justice League 2.

Standard RPG Maker assets are used, but in such variety that it doesn’t hurt the visuals. For instance, there are four dungeons to explore. From the ivy green fields to the rocky caverns, you’ll be visiting a large variety of locations.

While there are no animations, each piece of artwork has a large number of variants. One example is a photo of Isabel looking whimsically out the window. When the camera zooms out, you see that she is fingering her pussy under the table!

The game’s art is inspired by medieval times. From the fancy dresses of the aristocrats to the rags of the peasants, every artistic decision conveys the historic setting. The artist went into great detail in their work. A great example is your stepmother, Octavia, who carries a hand fan. She waves the fan around, gesturing her orders at house servants like the arrogant scheming bitch that she is. She’s the kind of evil that can only be cured with a good pounding in the pussy.

The character designs are fantastic. All the women have luscious feminine body proportions to oogle at. The golden hair of the holy knight matches the gold plating that adorns her armor. While all other characters have eyes colored in purple, or brown, the holy knight has clear blue eyes, signifying her blue-blooded noble background. She was the purest, most virtuous walking talking dick sharpener before your penis met her.

VOICE ACTING AND SOUND EFFECTS (SFX)

I’ve played a ton of RPG Maker games. The sound effects in this particular title are unique, and not the stock assets included with the software. The game includes audio clips for slashing attacks, opening doors, walking up stairs, etc. The sex scenes feature the expected wetness of lubricated genitals rubbing each other. The sound levels during sex are low, adding to the realism. The menus also include your standard bleeps and bloops when the player presses buttons.

MUSIC

The soundtrack has 62 songs in total. Some tracks are RPG Maker stocks, others are passed down from previous titles by Clymenia. Alongside these non-original inclusions, there’s plenty of unique compositions in the mix.

The most prominent song that plays during segments in the rural town, a ticking clock keeps the beat in place of drums. Violins and cellos carry the rhythm, complimented by the ringing of a cathedral bell.  There’s also tons of digitally synthesized tunes. Right before a battle sequence, a foreboding audio plays as you engage a tough enemy. This mixture of violin with fast-paced beats create a great atmosphere for violence.

HENTAI

The Nobleman’s Retort has 30 sex scenes in total, many of which follow a single sex act getting more radical over time. For example, exhibitionism, showing off someone’s body to other people for sexual excitement. This sex act repeats multiple times, but with enough variations and build up to keep it interesting in every scene.

The girls you fuck include your evil stepmother, your spoiled stepsister, and an arrogant female holy knight. In addition to them, there are a few other women to sexually exploit, including a feisty female adventurer.

Sex positions range from standing sex to missionary. The emphasis is on corruption. Rather than slowly turning the girls into sluts, you grow your powers of hypnotism to manipulate them into more and more crazy sex acts!

The Nobleman’s Retort is the greatest hypnosis-themed RPG I’ve played to date. The character motivations are compelling, the artworks are gorgeous, and the gameplay has unique twists that make it interesting. The music is orgasmic to the ears, and the step-mom sex scenes are some of the greatest hentai I’ve seen.
