Hildegarde must defeat four warlocks who are abusing magic. She’s sent out on this mission by The Guild of Magic. Little does she realize, hordes of horny men are waiting to fuck her brains out on this journey.

STORY

The young Hildegarde has been sent by the Guild of Magic to defeat four rogue mages. She’s the pride of her family, and a genius with spells – she’ll be able to complete this quest nice and easy, right?

She’ll need new weapons and armor to excel in battle, but how will she come up with that money? She could plunder a dungeon for treasure, or maybe there are job openings in town.

The jobs can be quite demeaning for her social status. For example, one job is to pose in her underwear for artists. If Hildegarde keeps returning to these kinds of jobs, she’ll slowly get corrupted by the men who are paying her.

The ending of the game depends upon Hildegarde’s level of corruption. If she’s gotten fully corrupted during her journey, she’ll turn to evil and become a dark sorceress of chaos who enslaves men into her reverse harem! If you play straight and avoid getting her corrupted, she will simply defeat the bad guys and go home.

The game takes place in four cities, each with its own warlock you must take down. While there is only one good ending to the game, there are numerous bad endings. In one of the endings, Hildegarde becomes a committed whore and loses all motivation to fight evil.

GAMEPLAY

Witch Act was created with RPG Maker. Move your character with the arrow keys. Press spacebar to interact with objects and people. Press CTRL to skip dialogue. Press ‘Q’ to hide the dialogue box. SHIFT to run.

The game cycle is your standard RPG adventure. Buy items and equipment in town to better handle the dungeons. After clearing one dungeon, move to the next town to get even better equipment for your next dungeon.

In each town you can find a tent with the Oracle inside it. If you ask her about the future, she will give you tips on your upcoming battles. If you ask her about the past, you’ll be transported to the recollection room, where you can take a second look at old sex scenes.

Each boss in the game takes craftiness to defeat. For example, the first boss has a “petrify” spell that will turn you into stone. The only way to defeat him is to wear a ring that resists petrification. Talk to NPCs and ask the oracle for tips, and you’ll have enough information to always know what equipment is necessary.

GRAPHICS

The art is in traditional Japanese anime style. The game is mostly dominated by images of the red-eyed fire mage Hildegarde fighting and fucking. If you like her design, you’ll love this game.

Standard RPG maker assets are used throughout the game. From the background images to the in-game sprites, everything comes with your standard download of the software. Even the battle sprites are standard skeletons and tentacle creatures. It’s not impressive that they used stock visuals, but it works fine enough.

Although the body proportions are done well, there are many aspects of the illustrations that need improvement. For example, a white circle is drawn on cheeks to convey the sun shining on someone’s face. That’s fine enough, except this same artistic technique is repeated upwards of six times in a single artwork! No human being is that shiny! It comes off like the artist was afraid to draw breasts and shoulders, so they used this as a crutch to avoid doing it.

The artist seems to struggle with turned heads. If the character is faced toward the camera, it looks great. But at times where the girl has her head turned, the size of her eyes change dramatically! The artist is using the eyes of the character to convey a turned head, which is an amateur tactic that ends up looking terrible! One eye is a kilometer wide, and the other is barely visible! The artwork itself is fine, but its these minor art design choices, that keep the graphics from being truly great.

Hildegarde wears six different outfits during the game, but they cannot be switched on demand. The wardrobes can only be accessed in specific places in the game. The outfits are very cute, but not used as much as they could’ve been.

VOICE ACTING AND SOUND EFFECTS (SFX)

Witch Act has no voice acting.

There is nothing unique about the sound effects. These generic clips are used in virtually every RPG Maker game. Although it’s no issue during normal gameplay, it seriously sounds terrible during sex scenes. The sounds of thrusting are completely unrealistic, and the sound used during blowjobs is just a lower volume version of the vagina noise. It doesn’t seem the developers put much attention into the audio at all.

MUSIC

The soundtrack has 25 songs, none of which are original. Many come standard with an RPG Maker toolset. As the majority of the music is very standardized, multiple instruments repeat throughout the songs. Xylophone is heavily used in nearly every song. Its light-hearted tones are vital to setting the tone of a town or shop environment. One song is all xylophone and flute, which together create a pleasant, simple rhythm. Sadly, most of these songs are only a minute long.

HENTAI

Witch Act has 58 sex scenes in total, but only 15 unique sexual situations. Each sexy situation has one CG followed by multiple variations of the same artwork divided into different scenes.

For example, first you pose in your underwear while people draw your body. Then you pose in the nude, then with a naked man by your side, then in a sexual position. Each piece of art is used multiple times.

You can expect the standard missionary, blowjob, and doggy-style sex. Some men talk about wanting to impregnate you, but there is no impregnation action anywhere in this game.

Most sex scenes are initiated under three circumstances. You are paid to have sex, fucked without asking, or put under a nymphomania spell. The setup of the scenes feel formulaic like the developers tried too hard to follow successful formulas perfected by their favorite developers.

There are unique sexual situations too. In one scene, a man cums on your salad and feeds it to you. In another, an artist paints clothes on you, so your character can walk around naked. And in one other scene, your character is stuck in a wall, creampied by ten random guys.

All these scenes should be hot, yet they’re missing something. Most times, there is only a single scene devoted to the new idea, and it never goes anywhere. Like when your character walks around with painted clothes on – there’s only 4 NPCs in town watching you. It’s an underwhelming experience. And what’s the point of getting creampied when the protagonist never gets pregnant? Where’s the taboo, where’s the risk?

The one great scene in the game shows Hildegarde turned to stone on purpose. Her statue body is sent home to her father, who thinks it’s just a decoration. Even though she is turned to stone, Hildegarde can see and feel everything. His father jerks off onto the statue many times, revealing her incestous desires for her sexy daughter. After taking multiple cumshots in her stoneform, the girl gets so horny, she reverses the spell and rapes her own father! She quickly gets pregnant and the game ends, quest failed.

CONCLUDING WORDS

Witch Act is a basic hentai RPG experience by a small Japanese studio. Circle Clymenia has improved over time, and they’ve made much hotter games since this title came out. It’s still solid, but nothing compared to their more recent works. The game rocks four hours of content to explore, and allows you to corrupt your character into a whore. The game runs perfectly bug free.
