You make low standards comics and games, because you want money from low standards customers. Your strategy is toxic. People like me have to write about your crap products. It makes my life harder. I can’t hire good writers passionate about hentai games without fun hentai games.
Intentionally making bad products will make it difficult to retain quality workers for you too. If your employees are not enjoying your projects, they will find new opportunities to pursue their ambitions. Everyone has a right to hustle, but you could make less toxic content, and still make the same money.
Some of you finally stepped up this year 2018. I now have great writers who don’t hate their jobs. I don’t hate my job, because the products are so much better than before.
This post is a follow-up on my rant Systematic Abuse of Freelancers in the Hentai Industry.
The big mistake that aspiring hentai companies make in their despair for workers is hire people with problems. You hire these people fully knowing they have problems, then squeeze the value out of them with your abusive bullshit. When they lose their motivation, because you’re a terrible employer, you cut them off and block them.
I know you hire low market value workers, because you’re small companies that can’t afford better. Just be responsible, and don’t dangle the carrot of long-term employment in people’s faces. Our young industry is highly unstable, and your company cannot promise long-term employment opportunities. Don’t let people build their lives around you if you cannot follow through on your promises.
Rather than hire the cheapest, most desperate workers to make shitty products, make your company into an experience that people love. Create an environment that attracts quality people. Make good products that inspire your customers, and the writers who review your products.
You will make more money shooting high than shooting low. Raise your expectations for yourself, raise your expectations for your customers. Make good shit and break the bank.
Rather than desperately manipulate and cling on to your cheap labor workers, guide them towards better opportunities. When their lives get better, they may want to work for you again. Don’t get stuck with shit. Keep searching for better partners. Follow through on your obligations to help your employees reach a better place in life. You’re in a position of power. Great power comes with great responsibility.
We should not let our industry get a bad reputation as an abusive environment for workers. A few years from here when we want to expand our businesses, we’ll face difficulties in employee retention. Workers will be rotating in and out of the industry, spreading stories of their negative experiences to their friends.
A toxic industry leads to tons of missed opportunities. You will never receive that life-changing email from an applicant who could have transformed your company into a powerhouse. Many propositions from great companies will never arrive in your inbox. Your life will be going nowhere.
The people you abuse will be spreading their toxicity to their friends. People talk when they have anxiety. When I was still freelancing for companies, I was always ranting about the shit I was feeling. Eventually nobody wanted to listen, because they didn’t want to feel like crap. Without Hentaireviews, I wouldn’t be here anymore.
Stop stabbing yourselves in the balls. Treat your people right. Make better products.
