STORY
Princess Jasmine is feeling insecure on the eve of her wedding with Aladdin. The former hood rat has manned up, he’s slated to become the leader of Agrabah. Political power and social status are making Aladdin’s alpha male swaggery bloom, allowing him access to practically every woman in Agrabah. Princess Jasmine realizes she can’t control his man anymore! She must resort to extreme measures to ensure a stable monogamous marriage. She must enlarge her breasts for Aladdin!
The Genie directs her to the shop of an alchemist down in the city of Agrabah. What Jasmine didn’t know is that the Genie is actually a skilled alchemist himself, and only sent her to the shop as part of an elaborate scheme.
The game is a collection of short interactive stories. There is no overall plot to follow beyond the premise.
GAMEPLAY
Magic Shop is a visual novel. Player input decides which potion is used on Princess Jasmine’s body. Some potions will change her appearance slightly, while others will launch you on a long side story!
Although this game can be completed in half an hour, its replay value comes from the fact that Akabur updates it on an irregular basis. Players can contact Akabur with illustrations and additions they want added into the game – and if you’re lucky, the next update will have your plotline added!
The game is heavy on dialogue, and no real strategy is required to play. The gameplay is trial and error as you explore the effects of different potions, hoping for a sex scene to unlock.
GRAPHICS
Most visual assets in the game were hand-drawn by Akabur in his unique style. Still they vary in appearance depending on the potion you choose. He’s been working on this game for over four years, so some artworks are more polished than others. Also, fan submitted illustrations are sometimes used, which vary in quality as well.
Princess Jasmine is drawn as an absolute cutie! Her clothes are baggy and hide her luscious long legs. Her boobs are big and saggy, though she sadly never bares it all.
The game feels almost like an art exhibition. One moment you see Ariel from The Little Mermaid, the next moment you see an apple on a stool. You keep going through those potions, you’ll soon see art from the movie Tron, the next moment you’re staring at a body-builder version of Jasmine.
VOICE ACTING AND SOUND EFFECTS (SFX)
Magic Shop has no voice acting. Neither are there grunts or moans during sex scenes.
The game has a few basic sound effects, like when a potion is used, or someone takes a step forward. However, there’s very little movement and actual action in the game, so the opportunities for the occurrence of sounds are few.
MUSIC
There is practically only one song playing throughout the game. The song conveys the feeling of a hot day in Agrabah, with a variety of sound effects playing in the background ranging from wind pipes to various string instruments. The music cuts to silence after a potion is used and starts again after a while.
HENTAI
Magic Shop features scenes of masturbation, and vaginal sex, and minor femdom.
One of the few sex scenes in this game involves taking a woman from behind while riding a motorcycle. There is little movement or variation in the scene, and it goes on longer than it should. The writing feels mediocre and uninspired. I assume this is because the game is a patchwork project crafted piece by piece over the years. There are one or two animations in the game, but they’re very short and only cover hand movements, leaving the entire body completely still.
One of the potions in the game makes Princess Jasmine horny, and she begins to finger herself. If you pick the correct dialogue options through trial and error, she will allow you to masturbate while looking at her face.
There is also a scene where your character has sex with Lara Croft from the Tomb Raider series. It’s an okay scene, but also highlight the issue with this game: Segmenting the stories and sex scenes into two minute adventures makes the overall experience incoherent and difficult to emotionally invest in. By the time you’ve gotten excited, the sex is already over!
CONCLUDING WORDS
Magic Shop is a charming little cartoon porn game available on three operating systems. If you’ve finished Princess Trainer, this game is worth a play for the novelty of it. The artwork is good, but you can tell it was Akabur’s first game. The release of irregular updates makes this title worth keeping an eye on.
