You are the lucky winner of an artificial human with a nice ass and big tits. Help this cute little cock sleeve get comfortable as your permanent supply of pussy! Her name is Glare, and she’s your house maid.
STORY
You fill out a boring questionnaire. It’s a quick and dirty affair. Once you’re done, you send the form to the hosting company. Soon, a large cardboard box turns up on your doorstep some time later. Inside the box is your new house maid, the artificial human named Glare, ready to serve your dick! Expect, she has a wicked tongue and a defensive personality. She won’t hesitate to flat-out kill you if you lay a finger on her without permission. She’s extremely suspicious and views everything with cynicism. She hates her role as your maid, she hates being a product sent to live with a stranger for the rest of her life. She’s such a bitchy little existentialist shit, she even questions why her makers gave her intelligence.
Despite her problems with the situation, she accepts you as her official user.
The story gets confusing the more you progress. Some scenes feel jumbled and the plot doesn’t make sense until you unlock certain keywords. I was invested in the beginning but my attention waned because of the side effect of the keyword system. The trial and error throws off the pace of the story. You’re forced to trawl the backlog. It gets repetitive.
For example, glare could be talking about ingredients. I enter another word, and the scene changes to a bedroom, where the process repeats. Unfortunately, the scene doesn’t advance as I didn’t have all the necessary keywords to trigger the event. This means I need to repeat each scene, look through the backlog in search of the elusive word which I missed. The fastest way to kill a reader’s interest is to bury them under useless busywork.
Thankfully, the plot and dialogue was enjoyable enough to keep me going. It can be fun to watch Glare explore the room and provide her dry observations. There are also hints of something deeper going on in the background. It’s just too bad much of the experience dulls as you struggle to move to the next checkpoint.
CHARACTERS
There are two characters in the game. Despite being the main character, you don’t show up in a physical form, or in dialogue. This makes it somewhat easier for the reader to project themselves into him. The experience is immersive enough, however, the lack of dialogue threw me off. It often feels like Glare is talking to herself.
Glare is an artificial human. However, she displays a morbidly high level of sentience, as evident in her speech. She is rude at first, but becomes friendlier when she accepts the main character as her user. Despite her coldness, she has a sweet, girlish side to her which comes out on occasion.
GRAPHICS
The game has a Japanese anime art style. The developers also make use of Live2D for Glare’s character sprite. She does subtle movements and fidgets cutely, making her more lifelike. Glare is dressed in a typical maid outfit, her hair put up in twin tails with a frilled hairband on her head. Her outfit is nicely detailed, from her puffed sleeves to the tiny black tie that rests on top of her chest. She only wears one outfit throughout the game.
The background art is bland. It looks as if someone took a couple of stock photos and traced over them. Despite how dull it looks, I admit that it comes across as extremely realistic. Other parts of the apartment look similar, with key differences being the type of furniture in those rooms. The television area looks completely different from the bedroom and kitchen areas. Only the final hentai scenes look nicer.
The colour scheme is disappointing. Everything is colored in dull shades of grey, brown or beige. Even white looks awfully muted. It meshes well with the detached nature of the story, but it can get boring to look at. I didn’t notice much shadows used on the character, but they were visible in backgrounds.
SOUND EFFECTS AND VOICE ACTING (SFX)
There is no voice acting. I also half expected there to be no sound effects, but there are some. Simple actions like opening a door prompts an audio clip. Certain sounds are also triggered in important scenes, but not frequently. The lack of music can get unnerving though the silence makes the sparse sound effects more impactful.
MUSIC
There is no music. Only one melancholic piano track plays at the end. Considering the title had sound effects for simple actions and triggers, I think the lack of music may be an artistic choice. It’s a gutsy move. I’d rather read in silence than endure looping stock music, but the developer should have made music an option instead of having none.
GAMEPLAY
The game is a visual novel with a unique gameplay element. Clicking the textbox ‘turns’ the page. However, you need to enter certain keywords to advance the plot. It makes the game more interactive, though fappers looking for an easygoing story that progresses on its own will tear their hair out in frustration. The game all trial and error. Things get smoother as you progress and become more adept at picking out keywords.
HENTAI
The live2D model of Glare makes the hentai content deliciously immersive. There is only one sex scene at the end, but it’s long and enjoyable. There is barely any descriptions other than Glare’s moans and comments, but the jerk and shudders of her body are more than enough to make fappers rock hard. Her body rocks back and forth while taking a dick. Each thrust makes her squeal. The scene was good, I only wish there were more textual descriptions.
CONCLUSION
Glare 1more feels and plays like an experimental game that’s testing the waters. The story is short and sweet, and the software plays without glitches. The gameplay is full of trial and error segments, which pads the content. If you’re into cute feisty maids you have to tame before they get down, then you will enjoy peeling off the bitchy attitude of Glare.
I recommend this game to otakus who love tsundere maids. Download Glare 1more at Nutaku.net.
