STORY
Your parents like your sister better than you. They’ve invited her on a trip to Italy that begins in ten days! Convince your sister to stay!
The writing is very basic. Your sister is a stupid slutty bimbo. Hire your friends to grope her and smack her phat ass. She never gets upset because secretly she fucking loves being degraded. Eventually she’ll be happy to be a stay-at-home whore!
The game allows you to access any scene you want with minimal effort. You can convince her to star in a porn film within the first ten minutes of the game. While the scenario is hot, the lack of escalation and believable writing makes this a very lackluster experience.
Your sister has three attributes called Bitch, Pervert, and Exposure. If one of these stats is above 15,000 points, you’ll unlock that ending. If all stats are above 25,000 points and you do certain story events, you’ll get the true ending. There are five endings in total. The normal ending, the true ending, and three unique stat-based endings. Getting the true ending requires multiple playthroughs.
GAMEPLAY
The game was created with RPG Maker VX Ace, but is far from a traditional level grinder. You move with the arrow keys and press ‘Z’ to interact with characters and objects. Press CTRL to skip through dialogue.
The game cycle is simple and repetitive. First, you decide where your sister will go for the day. Second, you set up traps at that location. Third, you sit back and watch her run into the traps.
There are a handful of areas to choose from: The residential zone, the shopping zone, and a few others. The layout for each stage is different, but the core gameplay remains the same. Set down traps to interrupt her during her walk.
The fundamental appeal of the game is BBP, big brother points. Every time your sister falls into a trap, you’ll gain some points. These are used to acquire more traps or items in the store.
While the gameplay is unique, it’s not very fun. Hiring men to sexually harass your sister is pretty weird, and gets tiresome fast. Plus there really isn’t any creativity involved here. It’s all about finding the best trap layout, then repeating it. You have more freedom in generic RPG games.
Since the game only lasts ten days, it shouldn’t take long. Assuming you aren’t save scumming, the game can be completed in around an hour. You are likely to take at least three hours to get the true ending.
GRAPHICS
The artwork is drawn in the style now iconic to the developer, Breast Mafia. Their girls have huge tits, pointy nipples, and an exaggerated hip to waist ratio.
The fatal flaw to this game is that you cannot hide the text boxes. The girl’s butt is often blocked by text. When the girl is turned towards you, her pussy is blocked by the text. In one scene she gets her tits groped, but they’re blocked by the text. This type of flaw is absolutely unacceptable. Even games from decades ago have the feature to turn off a damned textbox!
There are 40 scenes in total, each with their own artwork. However, none of the artworks have variation images. Often you’ll be looking at a still image for ten minutes while the dialogue changes. This can work well in a story-focused game, but the main draw of Bakana Imouto is the erotic content. I wish there were some variations for penetration and creampies.
Another quirk of Breast Mafia artworks is inconsistent faces. Sometimes your sister has a round face, other times it’s pointed at the chin. Sometimes she has chubby cheeks, other times they’re totally average. These small inconsistencies add up, to the point that some artworks feel like they don’t fit with the rest.
The sprites in this game are all stock assets with some recolors. While the world is well designed and enjoyable, the lack of free roaming mechanics keeps the primary focus on the CG images. A new CG is shown every time a trap is activated.
VOICE ACTING AND SOUND EFFECTS (SFX)
Bakana Imouto has no voice acting.
The sound effects are all stock assets from the RPG Maker library. They didn’t even download a unique orgasm sound! Instead, orgasms have the sound effect for lighting spells. Rather than a moan or squirting, you hear an electric zap noise!
MUSIC
The RPG Maker stock library is used throughout the game. There are hundreds of stock tracks to choose from, but this developer isolated themselves to only a handful. One track in particular plays during the dialogue at home and loops literally hundreds of times before the game ends. I ended up muting the game because it irritated me so much.
HENTAI
There are 40 scenes in total. Although the game has the word “imouto”, it’s not about sex with your sister. You hire other people to have sex with her! For example, by getting her to star in a porn film. While the fetish is technically voyeurism, there’s a cuckolding vibe going.
Your sister starts the game as a total slut. She happily cheats on her boyfriend and is totally okay with having sex with complete strangers. The lack of corruption makes this experience very basic. Whether you flip her skirt or get her fucked, all of this content is available from the start without any build-up.
In the bitch ending to the game she becomes a slut who has gangbangs with strangers. In the exposure ending of the game, she becomes an internet thot who streams for money. The list goes on, but you get the picture. Even the endings felt pretty basic. She was already a slut at the start of the game, so it didn’t feel like a satisfying ending. Nothing really changed.
CONCLUDING WORDS
Bakana Imouto is a game with a unique premise that never goes anywhere. Laying erotic traps to get a girl turned on sounds super hot, but the lack of story or build-up made this a very lackluster experience. Buy the game if you like the girl, because there’s plenty of scenarios to enjoy.
