Just when you think it’s safe to move on with your help, you are dragged back into the video game world of Arcadieu! A mysterious individual invades the Kingdom of Arcadieu. But this time you’re bringing your close friend Sophie along for the ride.

STORY
After the events of the first game, you have returned to your mundane life. You long to go back to Arcadieu. You get your wish and meet up with Sophie inside the game world. It’s never made clear how the mechanics work. In the first game you were sucked into the new world. Here you simply log in, but you’re still capable of seeing sex and damage.
Inside Arcadieu, you and Sophie go on a date. The two of you become intimate and after squirting your virtual seed inside her, you become separated. You also meet a new character, Leslie. She is a hacker from the real world and she wants to ‘upgrade’ the game by hacking the servers and changing the game world into a futuristic one. You have to act fast and stop her before Arcadieu is ruined forever. Depending on your choices, your relationship with Sophie may be changed forever.
SOUND EFFECTS AND VOICE ACTING (SFX)
The game has no voice acting, but does use generic cute sounds that give me the vibe they’ve been taken from a sound library on the internet. These sounds are all abstract.
There are various battle sounds like hits, explosions, painful grunts and numerous crashes.
There are computer noises, explosions, crashes, grunts, fabric rustling, abstract magic sounds. The large collection of sounds helps bring the game to life. Not all the sounds in the game library are used during gameplay. Arcadieu has no sex sound effects.
MUSIC
The music in this game has a feel-good vibe. There is a track for every occasion. Battle music is fast-paced and loop continuously, but there is a good number of slow, intimate tracks for softer, more romantic scenes. I found myself easily relaxed listening to several tracks that use the keyboard as its main instrument. Music is carefully selected and reflect the changing mood and atmosphere.
Like the first installment, Legend of Arcadieu uses original instruments with plenty of focus given to the harp and other wind instruments. The songs don’t stand out but are immensely enjoyable to listen to. The songs which feature the harp make it easy to imagine this world as a medieval sword and sorcery environment.
GRAPHICS
The artwork in The Legend of Arcadieu 2 sticks to the style of the first game. The unique aesthetic sets this game apart from other hentai titles. Colors are sharp. Artwork has a cartoonish, western influence that makes the rest of the game pop. The artwork has been updated with CGs taking inspiration from the east in order to give characters an updated, somewhat realistic overtone.
Certain background artwork fails miserably. They are computer generated and look like they were created in the 90s. Watching the hand-drawn sprites in front of these CGI backgrounds is incredibly distracting.
GAMEPLAY
The Legend of Arcadieu 2 is a visual novel. You click the screen to advance the story. The game menu remains unchanged for the most part from the previous installment. Skip to your favorite bits of the game by using the โAutoโ and โSkipโ buttons.
Throughout the game you are presented with choices. These choices determine which one of two completely different routes you take. The game contains 25 illustrated scenes with four girls to charm.
HENTAI
Unfortunately, much like the first game, sex in Legend of Arcadieu is limited to one or two CGs with minimal evolution or variations. The hentai CGs are hit and miss. Some of them are lewder than others. Sex scenes are short with little play by play or descriptive text.
A very lewd scene involves encountering a Succubus in the Infernal Lair. You are tied to a torture bed before the sexy succubus impales her pussy on your throbbing dick. She makes you submit to her will. If you played the first game, this scene is more enjoyable as the Succubus in this game is the small, submissive one from the first one. Having her insist on being the Dom while you are the Sub is not only a great call-back but a nice way of ticking off a sexual kink.
In another route, you have sex with Sophie. The scene is short, but is very intimate and makes you believe in their relationship. The camera work shows off Sophie’s body but it’s her cute face that grabs your attention. Another scene involves finding Leslie. You have sex with her in the forest, but it feels like an afterthought. It lacks the intimacy of having sex with Sophie or the sexiness of fucking Succubus.
CONCLUDING WORDS
The Legend of Arcadieu 2 is a good sequel to the first game with lewder artwork and more cute girls. The length of scenes has improved with less padding, but the story remains short overall and the lack of voice acting makes the title lose some points.
