STORY
The protagonist is an average middle-class Japanese loser named Takeru, who overhears a bunch of tanned girls talking about penalty games. All of a sudden, he finds himself on the wrong end of a chikan situation. Someone is groping his balls and it’s a cute tanned bitch. She tells him to shut up while she finishes him off, or she’ll sue him for groping.
One thing leads to another and Takeru learns that Miori, the girl who groped him, is serving a penalty game with her friends which involves doing obscene and lewd things with him. But it gets worse, the tanned bitches gang up on Takeru, making him have sex with them and then forcing him into paying them money for the chance. It’s pretty fucked up, but hella more hilarious.
The rest of the game is merely a series of sex scenes with the same formula.
GRAPHICS
Sprites are limited to Miori who has a handful of facial expressions, but unfortunate only one pose. Miori’s design is sure to bring a smile to players’ faces, especially if tanned girls in hentai are your thing. Blonde hair and giant tits with a face that looks made for shoving a dick into, this girl has got it going. Artwork uses thin edge lines with light shadows. Miori’s sprite has a vibrant color scheme compared to the more faded colors of some of the backgrounds.
CGs have variations for facial expressions, cock placement, cum and other lewd things. I will also admit to really liking the camera angles on some of the shots. It’s filmed from the waist up sometimes or upwards from a bottom position. The camera zooms in sometimes, especially when a sprite is talking.
The background artwork reuses several venues from other games in the developer’s catalog, most notably the office environments and the train interior. The least the devs could’ve done is recolor the stuff. Now I can’t help but think this is the only train station in Japan. There are some new backgrounds, which I appreciated. Some of these have more detail and brighter colors than others.
MUSIC
The game uses synthetic instruments. It’s a decent selection that hits all the checkboxes. Depending on the scene, we’ll either hear a high octane sexual encounter or a soft, intimate track. If the mood is tense, so is the music which usually succeeds in casting a wave of eeriness over gameplay. Some songs sound like they’ve been copy and pasted from other titles in the developer’s catalog.
GAMEPLAY
Railroaded to Punishment is a visual novel. You click the screen to advance the story. As typical of Appetite games, there are plenty of save slots, but almost no choices or branching routes. There is a single choice in the game which affects, which of two possible endings you get.
There is a Scene Mode for replaying your favorite moments and a Gallery Mode for jerking off to CG artwork, the contents of both are unlocked as you play.
VOICE ACTING AND SOUND EFFECTS (SFX)
Miori and her friends are the only voiced characters in the game, but I believe they’re all voiced by the same actress as a cost-cutting measure. They all sound very alike. As for Miori, her actress puts in a decent performance, capturing the spirit of a tanned bitch. She’s cute and cunning, sexy and horny, and when she fucks, that meat between your legs will harden and will spray cum.
There are barely any sound effects. I heard one or two generic jerking or squelching noises.
HENTAI
A lot of juicy reverse-chikan action here, folks. It’s funny as hell to watch a man fall victim to a young girl groping his balls on a train. Or jerk his cock between her legs while he fights to make sure nobody takes notice. It’s these unique sex setups that make porn worth it.
On a serious note, the hentai stuff is very funny and sexy. The dialogue is chalk full of typical visual novel lines, but it’s the fact that Miori is the aggressor that makes it stand out. In one pivotal scene, she berates Takeru for daring to stick it inside her. It’s a reversal of roles that injects a blast of cum and subversion into this femdom, male-sub game. The final scene involves a climactic orgy with a bunch of tanned bitches.
