STORY
Your name is Lance Corporal Till, a famous veteran of a recent war. Since the war has ended, you’ve been placed in charge of gate-keeping for various checkpoints across the nation. The gameplay is inspired by “Papers Please”.
You have tons of dialogue and a world to explore, while most of the game has no story whatsoever. You simply do your duty as a gatekeeper, gradually growing closer to your coworkers.
The writers make full use of the “post war” time period. There are immigrants and political tensions all around you. Nations try to negotiate peace treaties to avoid future wars. There’s also racial tensions between humans and beast people. The world truly feels multi-layered and exciting to explore.
Characters appear and disappear from the story over time. Seeing a familiar face and learning their story is always fun. You think “I recognize that person!” and get the opportunity to learn more.
The primary storyline is short but very satisfying. It was memorable and worth reading. I highly recommend you read through instead of skipping the dialogue.
The official translation is mostly complete. One or two scenes are untranslated, with a handful of dialogue untranslated in other areas. Hopefully the developers fix this in a later patch.
GAMEPLAY
The game was created with the Wolf RPG Editor, but has so much scripting, it’s hard to notice.
All actions are controlled via mouse clicks. Right clicking will skip dialogue, which allows for faster processing through gates. If you’ve played “Papers Please” you already know how to play.
Civilians will give you their traveler’s permit. You need to make sure the dates match your calendar, and that the country’s emblem is on the paper. Later you will have to deal with weapon permits, body searches, and wanted posters. Each new feature comes up over time.
The game offers two difficulty modes: easy and normal. There are also cheat codes for the lazy players. The first 20 minutes completely lack erotic content while you play through a tutorial. But after that, things get very sexy!
Regardless of your chosen difficulty, the game is a roller coaster between easy and hard. In particular, the gatekeeping process gets more difficult with time, but purchasing items makes it easier. For example, you get a metal detector to find weapons. Before you have that item, things are pretty rough!
There are five stages in total, but they are not always linear. In particular, you’ll be returning to the second world multiple times to explore more events. The story always takes you back to play earlier areas.
There are tons of great unlockables to be found. Colored flags allow you to interview only men or only women. Special glasses allow you to see the sexual history of the civilians. Aphrodisiacs will make seduction a lot easier. And of course, the metal detector will warn you of any weapons.
At first, all you can do is talk to people. Soon you’ll be able to pat them, and tell them to take off their clothes. Finally, when you’re experienced enough, you can even convince people to have sex with you!
GRAPHICS
The anime art style is very detailed and makes great use of three dimensional space. There are 3 base CGs with 11 variations each, a total of 33 CGs. This may sound small, but these numbers are misleading!
Rather than pre-rendered computer graphic images, the visuals in this game are constantly made on the spot. RPG Maker sprites, character stills in dialogue, and fully interactive character models make up the majority of the game. There are 3 base CGs, but there are hundreds of other visual assets!
There are 18 unique characters in this game. A big breasted nun, a tough and gruff beast man, a petite adventurer girl, and more! Each character has an eye-catching design that makes them easily recognizable by silhouette alone. Each character has multiple outfits and variations of dialogue. You can strip them of their clothing and grope them.
You can pinch nipples, finger assholes, and more. Each character is fully interactive! Yes, even the men in this game can be groped and penetrated! Characters have minor animations here and there. Matched with great sound design, the visuals do a fantastic job of conveying motion and personality with every action.
Outside of the anime artworks, there are character sprites on the right-hand side of the screen. This allows players to see and imagine the placement of all people in the conversation.
The general aesthetics and user interface of the game are inspired by the hit simulation game, “Papers Please”. From the placement of items and documents, to the movement of sprites across the map, the comparison is obvious. Still, this game improves upon the visuals with a more crisp and clean visual design.
VOICE ACTING AND SOUND EFFECTS (SFX)
The Imperial Gatekeeper has no voice acting.
The sound effects are used effectively but not in an obtrusive way. You hear crowds of laughter, ruffling clothing, a “smack” when you spank an ass, every action has a matching sound to give it impact. There is always room for improvement though. A different sound for smacking a small ass or a large ass would have been great. Right now, even girls with tiny butts produce a huge “smack” noise, and it sometimes doesn’t match.
MUSIC
There are only a handful of music tracks. The main menu theme is almost identical to the theme of “Papers Please”, with loud classical instruments creating a booming, intimidating tone. Still, in actual gameplay, you’re mostly listening to ambient noises. Things like the dripping of water are the only things you’ll hear.

There are 18 unique characters in this game, and you can have sex with all of them! There are also three unique sex scenes with full screen CG artworks to accompany them.
