STORY

You’ll get bits of dialogue when reaching intervals in your financial earnings. At three million, Makina will fuck you. At twenty million, she’ll acknowledge you as an equal and admit to liking you romantically. The game is open-ended after that and Makina has no further dialogue.

GAMEPLAY

The game was created in the Unity engine. You play this with your mouse only. There are six tutorial menus before starting the game. Once you read them though, the game is a total cakewalk.

The game was designed this way, and the DLSite page clarifies “The difficulty level of the game is easy, so that you can clear the game without fail. However, there is also a way to play aiming for a high score (clearing the game quickly), so please try it.”

This is a real-time management simulation game. The core gameplay loop is to purchase a slave and train her erotic skills. This way, she can quickly and easily pleasure the guests who come to visit. If a guest is extremely satisfied, he will purchase the slave for a large sum of money. Repeat this process until you have enough money to upgrade the brothel as a whole.

Upgrades allow you to own more slaves or train them quicker. You can also boost the efficacy of certain sex acts. For example, bonus power to blowjobs by upgrading a bedroom.

If you can’t serve a customer, your reputation will suffer. If your current slaves require too much training, purchase better ones. If a slave gets tired from too much work, use a different one instead. The center-top of the screen is your gold on hand, while the top right is lifetime earnings; don’t confuse them!

Once you hit 40,000 in lifetime earnings, you unlock the dispatch function. This allows you to send out your slaves to please men in other towns. Doing so will unlock new items, customer types, and slave types. Send out your ladies to build your rep!

GRAPHICS

There are 9 unique artworks, some of which are recolored to indicate a different type of woman. A blue-haired girl is a merchant while an orange-haired girl is a noble. If you count these recolors as unique, there are 14 CGs in total.

The entire game takes place on clickable menus. Click “Training” to upgrade the stats of a girl. Click purchase to buy a new slave. It’s all menus, and pretty bare-bones. The only action that takes place is when a girl is serving a customer inside one of the six rooms on-screen. Even then, you’ll be more concerned with her health and other customers to ever enjoy the view.

The dispatch system is also a menu. Although the on-screen text indicates you’re sending the girl away, it doesn’t really feel like anything is happening. This may as well be an HTML game, since there aren’t any traditional engine-specific features. Although the game was made in Unity, it may as well be a Java program made by a first-year computer science student.

Makina only appears at income thresholds. Even though she’s on the cover art, I almost forgot she existed while grinding. She doesn’t have much of a personality outside of liking the protagonist. If she had her own room or could be spoken to more frequently, she’d be a much more memorable character. Even something as simple as changing facial expressions depending on your choices, would make her a far more engaging character.

VOICE ACTING AND SOUND EFFECTS (SFX)

Slave Brothel has no voice acting.

Sound effects are extremely limited and practically nonexistent. The most memorable sounds were the stock moaning tracks whenever you put a girl to work. But after an hour of the same sounds on loop, it loses its eroticism.

MUSIC

There’s one track in the entire game. It’s chill piano music like you’d find in a fancy restaurant. At first it’s enjoyable, but the constant looping for over an hour makes this an extremely irritating track by the end of things.

HENTAI

There are 9 base CGs. The positions are doggystyle, missionary, reverse cowgirl, and cowgirl. There are 14 women in total, so art repeats often. Since they’re simply prostitutes, there is no erotic dialogue beyond “I’m going to cum”.

The sex scenes in this game are not evenly distributed. The final three scenes are completely unique, while all previous scenes had to be repeated constantly in order to level up your brothel. The pacing is just plain bad, and you can tell the game needed polish. As it stands, too many scenes repeat.

CONCLUDING WORDS

Brothel Slave is a novel concept. Rather than business management as a side activity, this game goes all in on the brothel management focus. While the core game mechanics are good, the weak visuals and poor soundtrack hold this back from achieving greatness.
