STORY
After working all summer to make ends meet you, it’s the day before classes begin. Upon arrival, you notice that your roommate has not checked in. Your first day of school is eventful and you meet a number of women whom you will get to pursue at a later date.
University of Problems is a game about building bonds with damaged women, as you do your best to help them with their problems and insecurities. At times, you’ll wonder if you’re some kind of therapist for these women. After being emotionally damaged in university, it’s your mission to provide them with comfort and relief…in whatever way you decide.
The story flows well with the different plot lines usually finding a way to intersect with the others, making for an interesting overarching university narrative. The dialogue is easy to digest and flows really well which makes for interesting conversations. The women are all unique and, to learn to satisfy them, the player must pay keen attention to their personalities. Correct responses earn you more relationship points while incorrect answers land you no bonuses.

GAMEPLAY
The University of Problems is a visual novel with additional gameplay features. It was made in the RenโPy engine, and runs generally smoothly, but parts of the gameplay are clunky and buggy. To advance the story forward, players have to click the screen. The game has plenty of save slots to save your progress.
During gameplay, players will be presented with a notepad and a cellphone. These two items will be vital for keeping track of character relationships, social media, text messages, and other things. This was a brilliant implementation that greatly increased the overall enjoyment of the game. Certain scenes are unlocked by earning a certain amount of relationship points with each girl. Without these points, you won’t be able to access certain scenes.
The player is also able to develop lust, strength, intellect and basketball skills based on the interaction with other characters. When the player has enough points in a certain area, they gain access to certain options that wouldn’t be possible without those skill points.
GRAPHICS
University of Problems has 3D art. You meet beautiful 3D-rendered college women that you would find at the most prestigious of universities. The environment in this game is well crafted to reflect the typical experience of a university student. This attention to details on campus and in classes only further enhances the immersion and wish fulfillment.
The models are all well-executed and consistent, with your eyes being quickly drawn to the well-shaped asses and tits of the girls. The facial expressions used throughout the game do a wonderful job at communicating the body language of the different characters and the developers ensured that there was a good variety of expressions so as not bore the player too quickly.
Each girl in this game has a distinct personality which is not only reflected in their attire but also in their behaviors, mannerism and ideals. Despite this, it would have been great if the developer could have used more diverse body types. All girls look gorgeous and distinct enough, but despite that, you can’t easily look past the fact that all the models were designed to be slim or athletic with big boobs.
VOICE ACTING AND SOUND EFFECTS (SFX)
The University of Problems does not include any type of voice acting. Sound effects are scattered all throughout the game, ranging from irrelevant sounds such as door knocks, the rustling of bed frames. You also hear phone ringing meant to alert you to continue the numerous storylines. The implementation of these different sound effects are handled brilliantly with the sounds being played at just the right moment time after time. This made the different transitions so much easier throughout the game, with sound effects being used wisely during the many different transitional scenes.
MUSIC
University of Problems has some real quality music, the beats vary from low tempo piano keys to high tempo club music. These are implemented effectively in a number of different scenarios and evoke different emotions. The slower beats help you to relax and process the different plot points, while the more aggressive music is reserved for intense moments of action and suspense. The music choices really elevate this game into such a stratosphere that it would be incapable of reaching without such an appropriate selection in music.
HENTAI
University of Problems features 7 hentai scenes, ranging from getting head from your new girlfriend to fucking a random stranger in her apartment after a party. These scenes do a good job of entertaining but the limited animation is a drag. Limited animation could have enhanced these scenes but, in this case, it had the opposite effect due to lack of fluidity. The still models look good but they would have looked even better with proper motion.
Other interesting scenes include two voyeur scenes, where our protagonist spies on a domina servicing her clientele. Seeing Roxy riding the protagonist in the early days of his college life perfectly sets the tone, not only for the game but for the sex scenes to come. The scenes with Roxy are of particular note and, I must say, they alone make this game worthy. Her personality, in combination with her sexual prowess depicted in the story, are satisfying.
CONCLUDING WORDS
University of Problems provides a fascinating university life simulation. With numerous captivating beauties to romance, this game is a delight. Quality dialogue ensures that the women jump off the screen and feel alive. Great sound and music choices raise the experience to another level. All aspects blend wonderfully together, resulting in a quality adult game I can warmly recommend.
