Booty Calls: Men at Work, a gay online dating sim developed by 3x Entertainment, published by Nutaku on March 2019. Play for free on Nutaku.net. For PC Windows and Android devices. Uncensored genitals.
In this game, you date big men looking to bone some boys. They got muscle, they got status, they are high status males just looking for some fun. Hook up with the dudes until they’re ready for in-and-out in the bed room.
STORY
You just moved to a new city. Upon arriving, you meet up your girl pal, Penelope. You inform her that you’re practically broke after the move. Thankfully for you, Penelope’s father just lost his personal assistant, and she quickly offers you the job.
Penelope’s father, Owen, arrives shortly after. He isn’t as keen on hiring you, but you quickly prove him wrong with your bright and eager personality. With a new job and a rapidly growing social circle, you’ll explore the city and meet hot men of varying ages. Build up your relationship with your favourite boy toy, and get your ass laid.
There is no overarching plot or story. After the swift opening sequence, the game immediately introduces you to the characters and instructs you on how to date them. Some characters have minor relations to each other, but it doesn’t affect your relationships with them. You date all of them at the same time without repercussions.
Owen, for example, is your boss. Talking to him mostly revolves around his personal preferences in and out of the bedroom, and has nothing to do with your job. Dating the guys is enjoyable, but the relations feel superficial.
There’s no deep dark backstories to plow through, or even character arcs. This game is very light entertainment. It’s good for what it is, but don’t expect fleshed out characters or a meaningful story.
CHARACTERS
In the beginning, you learn to know Owen, Max and Mateo. More men can be unlocked after dating the first three.
Owen Thorn is your new boss and certified DILF. He’s flirty and leads an extravagant lifestyle. He has a taste for hot men.
Max is a hipster journalist with a hate boner for Owen. He initially approaches you for salacious gossip on your boss, but you eventually win him over. Despite his cynical approach to capitalism, he’s surprisingly romantic and soft-hearted.
Mateo is a buff personal fitness trainer working under Owen’s company. He’s a perfect chocolate man with biceps to die for. He’s all about fitness and wellness. He likes to tease Owen, but he doesn’t mind a steady boyfriend. That’s your cue.
Other men can be unlocked later in the game such as Jay, Gage, and Atlas.
GRAPHICS
Booty Calls has a western art style. Characters have similar facial expressions. Coy half smiles, smirks, and charismatic grins are the default on every character. The art could have benefited from a larger variety of expressions, but CGs and sprites are still nice. There is also minor animation: There’s limited body movement, making the experience of talking to each guy more immersive.
There is a diverse cast for characters. From a ripped body builder to a well-built journalist, I wasn’t left wanting. Character CGs are nicely drawn with plenty of emphasis on each men’s rough and muscular bodies. Even the oldest character, Owen, is a veritable hottie despite his age. Mateo was the most eye catching with his sexy poses and washboard abs.
Backgrounds are fairly detailed, but you’d mostly be focused on the characters due to the user interface and screen real estate. The game favours a neutral colour palette, which can occasionally cause CGs to look flat. I feel like it’s a combination of budget constraints and the need to maintain a consistent style. I wasn’t too bothered by it.
SOUND EFFECTS AND VOICE ACTING (SFX)
There is no voice acting.
The sound effects are minimal. Most sounds are prompted by navigating the menus and playing mini-games. During sex dates, some small groans and sighs can be heard when you chain a combo. Sound effects are used sparingly.
MUSIC
The game treats you to a simple melody upon starting. It’s pleasant and welcoming, mixing some drums, piano and a couple of string instruments. The song is relatively short and loops as you go through the prologue, but I enjoyed it quite a bit. It’s a non-offensive cheerful song and sets a good tone for the game.
The next song plays when you’re in the game’s map, used to navigate various city areas. It’s an easy jazz tune, complete with synthesized sound effects and drums. Like the first song, it’s pleasant on the ears. Despite the repeated looping, both songs are simple and well-done enough that I didn’t have a problem with the music.
The third track I noticed was used much later in the game. It was a playful track that uses drums and synthesized sound effects. The music is decent overall, but I hope more tracks will be added in the future.
GAMEPLAY
There are a couple of different gameplay mechanics in Booty Calls.
Talking to your romantic interests simulates basic social manipulation. The guy asks you a question, and you have to give the answer he wants to hear. You pick your answers based on your impression of his personality. You get a cash reward when he likes your answer. If you trigger him with your redpill humor, the cash reward is significantly reduced. You can talk to each man ten times per day.
For example, Owen might ask you what your perfect night would be like. As the head of a company, he has high standards. I picked the option of dinner at a fancy restaurant, followed by hot tub and a round of sex. As you play, characters will also allow you to question them. You learn to know the guys on surface level, just enough to talk them into sucking your dick.
Dates are puzzle games. You can initiate a date by first raising a guy’s ‘heart meter’. Once their heart meter is full, you can take them out. During the date, you play a mini-game using match-3 puzzle mechanics, like HuniePop. Collect enough points by connecting as many identical orbs as you can within a set number of turns. The more you connect, the higher your score. It’s deceptively simple, but still fun.
The puzzle games get harder the more dates you have. By the time I made it to the fifth day, passing these dates required more thoughtful play and power-ups, which can be bought with in-game currency. You can also level up your personality traits, like Charisma and Romance for example, which requires even more currency.
After you successfully complete a date, the character will send an image of themselves via messages. The more you progress, the lewder the pictures become. It doesn’t take long to receive a photo of a half-naked Mateo with his abs exposed. However, once your photo slots are full, you’ll have to expand the slots by forking out some in-game currency.
After the fifth date, you’ll unlock ‘Sex dates’. Surprising no one, you either have to keep playing till you obtain the specific item needed to unlock a guy’s sex date, or swing your credit card. The sex dates can be hard to complete without boosts.
Majority of the sex dates I went on ended in failure. I have to spend in-game currency to buy extra moves to pass the date. It got annoying, especially after consecutive failures. I hope the difficulty curve gets adjusted. Stockpiling in-game cash to upgrade your personality traits helps, but the amount needed is exorbitant with five traits to upgrade.
As a free to play game, Booty Calls obviously comes with some caveats. The gameplay mechanics are designed to rape your wallet. The grind was tolerable and only slightly impeded my experience. Players will be tempted to open their wallets sooner or later, but characters might be charming enough to make it worthwhile.
HENTAI
Booty Calls makes you work for the good stuff. It took me a few in-game days to obtain the first naked photo. There is plenty of eye candy for gamers to drool over. The art plays with the personality and job of each character to create unique pictures. Owen fulfils the daydream of an attractive, flirty boss while Mateo is the sizzling hot gym rat who constantly bears the fruits of his labour. The naked photos are static but you can do plenty with a healthy imagination.
Sex dates are a let-down. The dates are focused on match-three puzzles. Successfully chaining a combo rewards you with sultry moans from the man you’re supposedly fucking, but there’s not enough visual feedback.
The men just lay there with their dicks out. It would have been more erotic if they were stroking themselves, or if your puzzles actually did something other than have them say another line of text. Even better would be a short looping animation of the two characters actually fucking after successfully completing a sex date. There is room for improvement here.
CONCLUDING WORDS
Booty Calls: Men at Work is a fun, lighthearted gay dating sim which does what it says on the tin. It’s a good time sink if you’re looking to salivate over hot men in your spare time without having to go through the annoyances of dating. The game would benefit from adjustments to the difficulty curve. The game is fully free to play, available at Nutaku.net.
