STORY
The Republic of Stivare was rebuilt after the second world war, and the Great Yasusu Empire seems to hold no hostilities, allowing its youths entry into the country for the purposes of tourism. The story is total nonsense and the writer just loves rambling uselessly.
While the story is about bringing a forgotten princess back to the throne by overthrowing a false king, the problem is, the plot gets lost in an endless amount of lore dumps and random conversations. If the game cut out the extra nonsense, it would be ten times better.
The author is trying to do everything at once. There’s an NTR route, a pure love route, and this huge open world full of lore. But the author got so caught up with world-building, he never focused on the actual story.
I see no reason why Prime Minister Abattini needs to be removed from power. None of the citizens seem to care what he’s up to. And annexing private property is done by all governments, which is evil and wrong from a long-term economic standpoint, yes, but he isn’t killing people in the process. Without a strong villain, there isn’t enough drama to enjoy!
Slut training your waifu was poorly done as well. Rather than letting the corrupion happen naturally over time, you have to control her at night time and send her out to masturbate in public and do other lewd things. Problem is, it’s completely out of character!
There are five endings in total: an NTR ending, a harem ending, and three romance endings.
GAMEPLAY
Furry Ear Girls Never Betray was created with RPG Maker MV. This version of the engine is infamous for slowdowns and frame drops, and that is exactly the problem with this game. It’s not game breaking, but stuttering can ruin a player’s experience.
The game is a standard RPG. Fight enemies to earn money and level up. This allows you to defeat bosses and survive longer dungeons. The problem is the horrible sense of progression in this game. You go from fighting robot mechs to beating bats and mice. And somehow the mice give you more experience points!
Rather than increasing money and experience gains from enemies, the game keeps it very similar. On the first dungeon you get 100xp per kill, and in the later dungeons you get 150xp per kill. This makes the pacing and level-ups incredibly slow and tedious. Boss encounters are bad. They’re significantly tougher than average fights, yet you get rewarded a tiny amount of money and experience.
Worse, there’s a very limited array of items and equipment for your player to use. The protagonist only has three equipment slots, and the stores in-game rarely update their inventory.
On a positive side, the game has three features that other titles should learn from! You can pay a fortune teller to get directions when you forget your quest. You can store money in the bank to avoid poverty after a combat loss. And if you rent a room, you can spend time with your waifu talking to her and getting closer. It’s tragic that these great features are overshadowed by the horrible RPG mechanics.
GRAPHICS
There are 40 CGs and 8 aniamted sex scenes. Sadly, the RPG Maker engine is not suited to complex and high definition porn scenes. Regardless of computing power, you should expect some stuttering and frame drops during animated sex scenes.
The industrial setting of the game gets tiresome fast. There’s a concrete zone, factory zone, stone zone, it’s all the same! While the game setting is realistic, people don’t play games for realism, they play it to have fun! Heavy grays and browns kill any sense of fun!
Visual glitches are a fact of life when playing this game. So much so, the developer added a function in the options menu to get rid of standing art that persists after a scene has ended. The tool doesn’t really work though, so a lot of scenes are ruined by standing art from the past that never disappear.
Small sprite animations are used throughout the game to show basic actions like masturbation. For more complex sex scenes, the developer prefers fullscreen CGs. He’s taken the approach of showing corruption by changing the CGs to include nipple piercings and tattoos. I found it very generic and unnecessary. When CG art repeats, it’s almost always with nipple piercings added to make things more edgy.
Because RPG Maker MV sprites are smaller than VX Ace, there isn’t much room for creativity. Almost all sprites look the same, except for the white-haired girl and the blonde. While MV may be the easier engine to use, its flaws are perfectly showcased throughout this game.
VOICE ACTING AND SOUND EFFECTS (SFX)
Furry Ear Girls Never Betray features full voice acting for the two main heroines. While Selena has a petite girly voice, Anne is the busty and lusty babe with a more womanly tone. The voice acting extends to sex scenes where the moaning and talking will make you cum buckets! My only complaint is the lack of good emotional moments. After the first hour or so, you realize the characters are pretty shallow and not even the best voice acting in the world could save that.
Sound effects are stock assets from the RPG Maker library. With the hours of battles necessary to simply explore a dungeon, you’ll get irritated with the audio. There’s a limit to how many times a high pitched beep can play in your ears before you simply mute the game.
MUSIC
There are over 100 tracks, but only a portion of them see usage. The vast majority of the tracks are licensed or stock assets. One track entitled “Murray Atkinson’s Ye Old Player Piano” sounds like a familiar offshoot of the commonly known track, “Fig Leaf Times Two”.
While some of these tracks were absolute classics that I could listen to all day, others were completely forgettable or did not fit the scene. It’s a mixed bag, but when the music hits the spot, the game feels like total bliss.
HENTAI
There are 60 scenes in total with only 40 unique CGs. Many artworks repeat, with small variations on dialogue and clothing between scenes.
The sex scenes in this game are godly. We got the stuck-in-wall fetish, filming a porn video, public humiliation in the nude, impregnation endings, and so much more!
The NTR route in this game is totally twisted, I love it. You can send your waifu to have sex with the main antagonist of the game! While she wants to overthrow the prime minister, she also wants to take his creamy unprotected load deep inside her pussy! And he’s not the only one! When she visits the doctor who asks about the father, your waifu admits she has no clue who actually got her pregnant!
The NTR route culminates in the game’s antagonist having sex with your waifu on television! The entire world will see her, her reputation is ruined! She’ll never restore her claim to the throne now!
Of course, with so many scenes it’s only natural to find one you dislike. Personally, I didn’t like one scene where a girl got hit with a piece of leather. It looked painful, and she peed, which isn’t really my fetish.
CONCLUDING WORDS
Furry Ear Girls Never Betray is a unique hentai RPG that tries new things with a totally unique setting. A post-war industrial era city was a brave choice of premise for a hentai game, and overthrowing a republic to replace it with a monarchy was even braver. This game has a lot of flaws but for the sex scenes alone, I’m super glad I played it.

Hey, As far as I can tell, there’s only a MTL for this game. Is that true, or did you find a human made translation patch?
Either way, I wonder if a brief discussion/mention of the translation quality might be a good idea for future reviews.
Whenever we do not link the patch, its a machine translation. Otherwise we link the patreon or ulmf link.
Most of the time when a translation is done manually, its perfectly understandable. In fact, on the rare occasions we comment on translation quality, its usually the OFFICIAL TRANSLATION that’s problematic. Take “Guilty The Sin” for example.

Comments on translations are always found in the story/writing section. If nothing is there, the translation is good enough that the game experience was smooth. Hope that helped! 😀
