STORY

The goblin race is made entirely of males. The species survives by breeding with human women. For the sake of the goblin race, you must kidnap and breed every woman who crosses your path!

There is no overarching story. You kidnap Anvil the priest, then Jada the mage, then Ilari the adventurer, and so on. There are twelve women in total to collect. Gotta catch em all!

There are multiple endings depending on whether you conquer the continent or set out to sea. Since you’re goblins, there is no dramatic plot twist or betrayal. It’s just a horde of monsters having sex with random ladies.

You will get the bad ending at least once, the game is designed that way. You get to keep your strong goblins, but you’ll have to start over. This emphasizes just how important it is to raise goblins with strong genes.

GAMEPLAY

Goblin Burrow is a simulation game. You spend the bulk of your time attacking humans and breeding with women, birthing stronger goblins. In spite of its simulation elements, the game is pretty linear. Press F to skip text.

Battles are simple. You can attack, defend, heal, or steal. In reality you’ll mostly be attacking, unless you breed a goblin specifically to use magic. The game doesn’t always require player input, as you can automate both the army setup and the battles.

This game encourages multiple playthroughs. Your first session is a guaranteed game-over. This happens because the enemies get stronger much faster than you can. Once the goblin burrow is destroyed, you start a new game, losing everything else except your remaining goblins. As you start a new game, you’re allowed to change the difficulty level from one to five stars.

Girls breed about 15 goblins at a time. As they breed more, they become corrupted. This changes the dialogue in scenes. Some girls boost goblin attack power while other girls give goblins new magic abilities. While this seems like a great system, the scripted attacks on your burrow discourage experimentation.

Overall this game has many great ideas, but they’re implemented in the weakest way possible. Feeding prisoners, setting up the army, breeding stronger goblins, and finding new women are all things you can do. But the growth is slow and there’s no motivation outside of sex scenes. More game mechanics does not mean a game is more fun.

GRAPHICS

The art is standard anime style. There are 12 women, each with multiple scenes.

The entire game is pixel animations except for the sex scenes. While the sex is fullscreen 2D art, the rest of the game shows individual sprites moving and fighting on their own. After the fullscreen scene there’s also pixel animations of the sex taking place inside of the prison chambers.

The artwork in this game is undeniably beautiful. Each strand of hair is carefully drawn, which is extra difficult because each girl has a unique style and hair color. The unique outfits and curves of each lady make for a joyful viewing experience. The further you get in the game, the bigger the breasts get. Except for Zoe, she’s got pink hair and B-cup because she’s innocent and cute.

The vast majority of the game takes place within the goblin burrow. As you breed more goblins and a larger variety thereof, you’ll see more sprites roaming the halls of the burrow. Similarly, all captured females are shown via character sprites in the holding chambers. While your burrow starts out boring and barren, it is bustling with sexy girls getting fucked.

While the story is basic, the visuals in this game are above and beyond expectations.

VOICE ACTING AND SOUND EFFECTS (SFX)

Goblin Burrow features full Japanese voice acting for the narrator and partial voice acting for all the girls. The narrator sounds like an older woman telling the story as if she’s reading a book. We never get to see her face but she sounds sexy. Meanwhile all the other girls moan and squeal with pleasure.

Sound effects are varied and very hot. From the wet sloshing of a pussy filled with cum, to the magical flash of a healing spell, each action has a matching sound effect. The only downside is that the same sounds play throughout, even up to the end-game. I wish we could hear some animals in the forest or something, just to make the world feel alive.

MUSIC

There are 25 tracks in total, all of which are completely unique. The main theme is played a cello, or similar. Whenever there’s danger, you hear an electric guitar and drums creating a super tense melody that makes your heart race. The battle theme uses violins and drums to create a feeling of challenge for the epic combat to come. All music files are OGG format, so they’re clear and vivid. The downside is that most tracks have the length of a minute or less. Altogether the music is fantastic, but gets repetitive over time. The game is too long for the same handful of tracks to play all the time.

HENTAI

There are 12 women in total, each with six sex scenes. While the base artwork is the same, the scenes change depending on the breed of the goblins. Dialogue changes as the women become more corrupted over time. While at first they’re horrified by goblin cocks and beg to be left alone, by the end of the game they adore goblins and beg to be filled. With that in mind, the game can best be described as a corruption title with ahegao and mind break themes.

Sex positions range from doggystyle to cowgirl. These goblins absolutely love human pussy, and they’ll fuck it any way they can. The downside is that the game encourages you to breed powerful goblins, which means you won’t find all the scenes if you play to win.

Although sprite sex exists for each woman, the animations are always the same. The sprites have sex in similar positions all the time. I would have loved more varied sprite sex. It would have been awesome to see the busty woman get her tits groped. Without a variety of dirty talk, these scenes get old fast.

CONCLUDING WORDS

Goblin Burrow is a long and content-heavy simulation style game. The animations and artworks are gorgeous, but the lack of storytelling and rather linear gameplay hold it back from reaching its true potential. The pornographic content is sublime in quality, but needs more variety. The overall experience is high quality, and I can recommend this title to avid hentai gamers worldwide.
