STORY

The writing in this game is hilarious! You and your childhood friend get along well. There’s tons of quirky moments that show that you make a good match. Like when you ask her to follow you and she says “Akira joined the party!” You tell her to stop being a nerd and hurry up. The banter brings this game to life!

Akira starts out as a burden on you and a bit annoying. You slowly grow to love her. She makes you cookies, plays video games with you, and always shows a genuine concern for you. The writer does a fantastic job of making her likable and cute. My favorite moment was when she catches you singing and records it as her new ringtone.

The author doesn’t take himself too seriously. At one point a character is talking about hentai games and literally says “Customers can look past the boredom if they’re promised sexy scenes later on”. I felt personally attacked!

At the end of the game, Akira finally pours her heart out to you. Seeing her parents divorce made her realize that she couldn’t just date the first guy she sees. She wanted to be with someone she knew would never change. And after spending time with you, her childhood friend, she realizes she could only be happy with you by her side. If you love romance with slow build-up, you’ll love this game.

GAMEPLAY

Do You Have Akira Points was created with RPG Maker MV. Use the arrow keys or mouse to navigate the game. Press Alt to skip text. Use the mouse scroll to access the backlog.

You cannot save game for the first half hour of play. You can customize the name of the main character, to insert yourself into the story. The options menu is the calendar in the kitchen, while the save menu is the computer in your bedroom.

This game does not have money or level-ups. There is no time limit to romancing Akira. Even after you do, the game continues on endless mode. The game only ends when you toggle the calendar in your bedroom.

You start the game with nothing. Every day, you go out and buy something new to share with Akira, such as movies, videogames, meals, and outfits. Every item will raise your relationship status with her until she confesses her feelings and you become a true couple.

There are mini-games associated with each activity. For cooking you pick a random card from a deck. For video games you roll some dice. For talking you identify which color repeats the most. For movies you play a slot machine. These tasks aren’t skill-based, they reflect how sometimes you get along well and other times you don’t. I completed the game in 32 days with 450 Akira points.

GRAPHICS

The art style is a simplified version of the Japanese anime style. Smooth curves and limited details are part of the developer’s iconic visual style. This same artist worked in his previous game “You’d Fight For Me”.

The character sprites in this game are adorable. Rather than stock sprites from the RPG Maker Library, these sprites are taller and more detailed. You can see in both character stills and sprites, how Akira shows off more skin and changes clothing throughout the game.

Akira has five base outfits with many others that appear less often. From the schoolgirl outfit where she shows off her panties, to the bunny-girl outfit where she has a nip slip, Akira is shown in a wide range of clothing while also keeping her features consistent and cute! No matter what she’s wearing, those hips are sexy as heck!

The artworks in this game are masterfully done. Often times the camera will show a point of view photo, so you can see for yourself what it’s like having sex with her. Other times you get a side-view, showing off her perfect legs and shoulders, making for a primal and raw experience.

Every character in the game has a standing artwork, even the ones with few lines. You can meet them all on the world map, moving between the movie shop and the grocery store. Most of the game takes place in the player-home.

There are 37 base CGs with 240 variations. The screen resolution is 912×624. Although the engine is RPG Maker MV, there’s almost never a frame drop or slowdown. The game runs smooth as silk.

VOICE ACTING AND SOUND EFFECTS (SFX)

Do You Have Akira Points has no voice acting.

While the slot machine mini-game has arcade-like sound effects, the sex scenes stick to realistic insertion and thrusting sounds. The focus is always on dialogue, so sound effects aren’t always used. Like when you’re taking out the trash, no sound effects are played. This was a good choice creatively, as the crinkle of plastic bags would not add anything to the scene.

MUSIC

There are 10 tracks in total, most of them completely unique.

The main menu music makes heavy use of bass guitar and drums, creating a chill experience, like you’re in a hotel lobby. The track for evening relaxation is a mix of digitized chimes with soft guitar, it’s almost like a lullaby. Meanwhile the morning theme relies on piano and soft maracas to create a bouncy feeling, like a day is just beginning. Each song is better than the last and I enjoyed them.

HENTAI

With 37 base CGs and hundreds of variation images, this game has hours of erotic content just waiting to be explored. Less than half of the scenes are vaginal sex, while groping and foreplay activities dominate the game.

Akira is a virgin and has never had sex before. While at first she allows you to peep on her cleavage, it’ll take a long while before you get to creampies! Although you can force her into sex whenever you want, she’ll move out soon after. If you want her to enjoy the sex, take things slow.

My favorite scene is when she finds your email address and sends you anonymous nudes! You fap hard without ever knowing it was Akira! Another great scene is when you wake up and find her stroking your cock! This is Akira’s first time doing it, so her inexperienced hands are cute!

At the final scene of the game she says “I’m full with you”. And you ask if she meant her heart or her body, and she says “Both”. She loves you and there’s no chance of her moving out. You’re going to be together forever! Hurray for no more condoms!

Do You Have Akira Points is a fantastic hentai game. With over six hours of content featuring everything from cosplay to gambling, it’s a perfectly balanced experience. The focus on romance made the sex all the more exciting when it finally happened.
