STORY

The writing in the game makes it an obvious Patreon title. Story bits were added piece by piece, rather than following a cohesive plan. This game took 5 years of work and the author admits certain aspects are still messy.

Firelord Zuku is misspelled, among other typos. There are dead-end references for content that doesn’t show in the game, like Kuvira’s grad party. While improvisation can lead to some odd ends, it really doesn’t have to be so sloppy when some effort is applied. Though this isn’t a big surprise with rookie devs. Unfortunate pacing is also there – players are able to seduce Asami and Opal before Korra. It felt like all the Korra scenes were crammed in last minute.

Narrative-wise, it gets pretty basic. Evil spirit Vaatu has possessed President Raiko and influenced many others. At the end of the game, Raava shows up to save the day. An interesting note about this is the developer’s commentary at the end of the game. Muplur stated he didn’t like how Legend of Korra ended and wanted to remedy things himself with a more cohesive story. Admittedly, he made Korra more likable, but the quality of writing varies dramatically.

This fan-game takes place after the events of Legend of Korra. You can visit the spirit portal and meet various characters like Lin Beifong. There’s a brothel in Republic City that houses cosplay actors that mimic characters like Katara and Ty Lee. It’s an interesting “what if” scenario, and great use of the Avatar setting.

The number of absurd moments in the tale really slow things down. Tenzin fucks Korra, Kuvira is impregnated by the protagonist, and Korra claims to love you but still chooses to marry Asami. It felt like every Patreon update had to have something spicy, so the overall arc began to suffer from disjointed dramatic twists.

GAMEPLAY

Book 5 Untold was created with the Renpy visual novel game engine. Press CTRL to skip things. Scroll up to see previous dialogue. The game can be saved at the pause menu. Thankfully the experience is completely bug-free.

Everything kicks off quite slowly at the start but gets much better late-game. I got a few ragequit moments in the mud. I had to make Korra hand out posters three days in a row. Patrol the park three days in a row. Wait three days for clothing to be made. Patrol the spirit portal for three days. Patrol Aang memorial island for three days. If you ever get lost, there’s a quest log to give you exact instructions on what to do.

The game is absurdly linear until these tasks are completed. Then you can begin corrupting Asami, and send Korra to obedience classes. If you have the money, buy outfits for Opal Beifong. And visit the porn studio to watch movies! It’s like the developer didn’t know what he was doing until partway through game production. But once he did, the game’s quality improved a lot.

The developer claims he was inspired by Akabur, and it shows with the constant dead-end areas. You can patrol the park or “meditate for spiritual energy”, but neither of those is an actual game mechanic. You don’t have an energy stat.

In spite of how linear and bumpy stuff gets, it was still a fun experience. Will you tell Korra to run out and kiss a girl? Or make her suck off a complete stranger? There’s easily six hours of exciting content to enjoy, as long as you know what to expect.

GRAPHICS

All visual assets in the game were hand-drawn by Muplur in his unique style. In the commentary, it’s pointed out how his art skills also improved, which is the case across the duration of the game.

Artwork late-game is fantastic if you can sit through the beginning. The huge cast of characters certainly doesn’t help. There are upwards of 15 women to bang. While artists like Akabur focus on perfectly drawing a single girl, this developer struggled with a wide range of girls.

In spite of the inconsistent art style, the visuals in this game are actually very impressive. Many scenes feature animations that bring the characters to life. Sometimes it’s simply blinking, or you can see Korra’s head bobbing up and down as she sucks cock. Many scenes have variations depending on the clothing being worn.

The large variety of horny cartoons to enjoy more than makes up for any bumps with quality at the start. I took over 500 screenshots for this review. Sex scenes feature blowjobs, sixty-nine, public flashing, and more! Each scene is guaranteed to have multiple CGs showing escalation. The game has a few basic sound effects, but no bending is ever performed. Often the screen will go black with text saying that bending is occurring, but you never actually see it. Without bending, this game is about an ordinary slut in a big city! Footsteps and ejaculation sounds are nice, but there’s nothing separating this game from all the rest.

MUSIC

The music is a minor focus to this game. Most tracks are variations on the original music from Avatar. Often times the background is silent to keep the focus on the dialogue you’re reading. This developer was no musician, and made the sound design secondary to his art.

There are over 50 scenes in total. The number varies depending on how you count them, like if clothing variations or dialogue variations count as separate scenes.

My primary complaint is how you randomly get Kuvira pregnant. Korra exits the fuck-fest rather stupidly. I wanted to knock up Korra. The game has a lackluster ending, considering all the build-up that preceded it.

OVERALL

Book 5 Untold is the best Legend of Korra porn game that has been made so far. Available for all operating systems completely for free, you can jump in and start seducing the bisexual water tribe avatar and her friends. If you love Avatar, this is a must-play experience.
