STORY

This game is the spiritual successor to Princess Knight Claris. We know this because their gameplay is identical and Claris appears multiple times throughout the story. But, this game fixes every flaw that Princess Claris had.

The protagonist is more likable because of his believable rage against Millia. She herself is a hateable character especially compared to true heroes like Eric from the eastern kingdom. And the player is given numerous hints on how to progress. But even if you ignore those hints, the world is well designed and you’ll stumble upon the treasures nonetheless.

After Millia secretly assassinated the true high king and received God’s blessings of virtually limitless power, she was set on the goal of defeating the risen demon king. However, depending on your choices, you can systematically dismantle Millia and her legacy turning it all to ash.

Her reputation? You can ruin it. Her kingdom? You can dissolve it. Her royal position? You can delegitimize it. Her blessings? You can have them taken away. Her battle against the demon king? You can force her to lose it. Even better, you can let her slay the demon king, but nobody will believe her or care. As the game calls it, she’s “A Brave Hero recognized by no one”.

Basically, you control Millia. Will she find the three holy relics to defeat the demon king? Or will she find the three unholy relics and be defeated? Travel the world and decide for yourself! There’s so much to do and so much to see, you’ll be completely immersed in the world before you.

Will you visit the hostile empire? Or work as a maid in the mansion? Will you hypnotize Millia and make her a slut? Or trick her into believing God wants her to be a whore? My favorite scenario was visiting the slave markets and transforming into a defenseless young lass. Nobody recognizes you as Princess Millia, so you can hoe around all you like!

The game is only two hours to complete, but finding all the endings and scene variations will take longer. Although Millia starts at level 99 and needs to be weakened, the game can be easily completed with Millia only at level 78 or so. The focus is on the experience rather than the numbers.

I love how every NPC has something unique to say. Even better, there’s tons of foreshadowing like references to the hostile empire before you ever go there. The writing never feels like an ass-pull, because the entire world is accessible from the start. You’ll most often think “ah, that’s what everyone was talking about”, and its a great feeling. Far better than other games that just add new plot devices at random!

GAMEPLAY

Heroic Princess Millia was created in RPG Maker VX Ace. Move with the arrow keys. Press Shift to skip text. Press A for the text log. Press Q to hide text boxes.

You start at level 99 and work your way down. However, you can completely ignore the level-down system by focusing on Millia’s two primary stats. Sensibility is how much control you have over Millia’s mind and senses. Sanctity is how blessed and protected by God she has become. You have to lower Sanctity first by finding the cursed items.

This systems offers a great and reliable sense of progression. As you raise your control over Millia, you’ll be able to make her do embarrassing things like flash her panties or walk around completely naked! As you corrupt her more and more, Millia’s dialogue changes to reflect her growing lewdness. Of course, there are special items you can find or create to change these stats manually if that’s what you choose.

Once Millia’s corruption is strong enough, you can use magic to transform her into a younger version of herself. Civilians will not recognize her as the princess, which allows for unique dialogue and scenarios. For example, you can only access the dessert mansion by disguising yourself with this skill. While this game mechanic is a bit underused, I found it to be a great addition to the standard RPG formula.

The world will seem overwhelming at first, but the game is surprisingly manageable. Once you acquire the boat or blimp, you’ll have free and quick access to everywhere you’d need to go. The developer clearly designed this game with the lewd route in mind, so be aware that the pure-maiden route will be longer and harder.

GRAPHICS

The art is drawn in the Japanese anime style. There’s a lot more creativity and detail put into these artworks when compared to past games by this developer.

While past titles simply used color gradients as a method of shading, this artist emphasizes realistic body parts and heavily detailed linework. You can tell each CG took hours to create, emphasizing a realistic presentation of difficult features like hands, feet, and even strands of hair!

Due to the focus on corruption, the art couldn’t simply vary the sex positions and call it a day. Rather, the artist had to emphasize the sensual proportions of Millia’s body without getting repetitive. He did this masterfully! One scene has her looking down on you between her thighs, another scene has a side view showing off her shoulders and breasts, while another scene is a POV cowgirl position with a blushing Millia looking deeply into your eyes! Every scene is better than the last, and minimizes censorship while maximizing the view of the tits and the face.

Millia has eight unique outfits, all of which affect her character sprite and standing artwork. Although there are only 18 CG images, they have hundreds of variations depending on your outfit. Will you be the inexperienced maid, the hypnotized prostitute, or the hyper lewd warrior girl? The ability to customize Millia’s state of mind and apparel make each playthrough different than the last.

The attention to detail in this game is simply absurd. NPCs react differently depending on your outfit, clothing damage is mentioned in conversations, body writing and pregnancy work alongside outfits to make Millia appear truly unique. And don’t even get me started on the world map! It’s huge! There’s the eastern continent, the southern dessert, and tons of cool dungeons filled with monsters to discover. It feels like a truly well designed setting, and I’d love to see it repeat in future titles.

VOICE ACTING AND SOUND EFFECTS (SFX)

Heroic Princess Millia has no voice acting.

The sound effects in this game are primarily stock assets. However, the focus on cursed relics and sensibility levels means the player has little reason to go out and hunt monsters. The game has so much visual variety in the scenes, that it’s only natural the sound design takes a backseat.

MUSIC

The soundtrack has 44 stock tracks from the RPG Maker library. Who could forget such classics like “Ethnic 3” and “Event 4”! Although the music is varied and enjoyable, using lesser known free tracks, they are still unoriginal media. I will say however, if not for my years of experience in reviewing adult games, I would never have guessed. From the main menu theme to the battle music, the game has a great presentation style.

HENTAI

Heroic Princess Millia has 18 CGs total spread across upwards of 400 possible scenes. This is due to outfit and corruption variations. In actuality there’s under 40 unique scenarios. My CG count is also fewer than the developer page, because many of these CGs are slight re-draws of earlier CGs. Like how the titfuck and cowgirl prostitution scenes are identical besides the addition of legs on the edges.

I got pregnant from anal sex. I don’t know how. I didn’t realize the uterus and the anus were the same thing! You can get pregnant from taking dick up the ass. Not that it matters though. Pregnancy has no effect on the game beyond the visuals. There is no birthing, you simply get the pregnancy “purified” at a shrine. Damn, that’s dark!

Sex stats track Millia’s experiences through the game. At the start of the adventure, she’s a virgin with a “perfect pussy shape” and zero lewdness. By the end, she’ll be a cum dumpster with a beat up pussy and supremely lewd thoughts.

The optional hypno content emphasizes the free-use fetish. The early virgin content emphasizes the reluctant virgin fetish. The late game content, no spoilers, emphasizes the corruption fetish. There’s also an optional fisting scene!

CONCLUDING WORDS

Heroic Princess Millia is a perfect example of a developer learning from his past games. The visuals are gorgeous, the gameplay is engaging, the story has a poetic ending, and the main girl is an absolutely perfect little whore! If you love busting nuts at busty blondes, this is your game!
