Much is happening in the western porn industry. And while itching to write a piece on ethics related to the ongoing drama, I was forced to stop and delete and rewrite this. Not only because of our affiliations with the entities trapped in the drama, but because just like them, I have crap for ethics.
Having flirted with freelancers and clients and masturbated to saucy nudes of saucy bitches sent in private, I have no leg to stand on in a debate about ethics. Having learned social skills by trial and error (you don’t wanna know more). I probably influenced the breakup of one couple, definitely almost caused the breakup of another (that one was married). Actually, let’s not make a list.
We’re burning this list. Get fucked, depressing list.
We porn industry people lack ethics. Just thinking back, even my first employer was corrupt, banging femboys and playing manipulation games they told me about. The next business partner was doing prostitutes, pickup, BDSM, until he flipped and became a catholic fundamentalist.
The very fundamentals of porn work are philosophically unsustainable. Hence the field attracts people whose moral compass is upside down, setting the stage for much sad behind-the-scenes drama.
The core problem is that sex in pornographic work is just a transaction. These are not honest relationships built upon a solid foundation of common values. You may think anime porn is less like that, but coincidentally, it’s not much different. And transactional relationships include manipulation tactics. The situation isn’t helped by the fact that many people coming into hentai and porn come from broken families. There are exceptions, but that would be a list again. And the current list of respectfully anonymous anecdotes suffices to make the point.
Yeah, we’re burning this list as well. Get fucked, dirty list of secrets.
The obvious reason for why people fuck around is the encroaching eternal darkness. Mortality is the source of our moral relativity. As we only live once, it is difficult to rationally argue for self-restraint in the pursuit of sex and money. Why not take calculated risks? Eternity has no memory.
Sexual self-expression is important. But it’s perilously easy to go overboard with. Whenever I speak with clients or business people in this field, and they tell me what they’re doing, I hear this regrettable void of philosophical cohesion. Sexy shenanigans requires meticulous rules. These rules paradoxically get exponentially stricter the more you stretch common moral principles.
The most important rule is owning your shit. Be it a hot date, paid event, or something involving a well-equipped dungeon, own the risks you’re taking. Fool around with the full understanding that when shit hits the fan, nobody held a gun on you. You requested of me, very explicitly, to utterly ravage your body. I have the chat logs. I’ll show ’em in court when we get there.
When you’re staking in your gambles only your own money and well-being, and the only one poised to get potentially hurt is you, there is no issue. The issues arise when your risks affect others.
The laws of the porn industry are going to change, and hentai will be impacted. The years-long shenanigans that was going on behind the scenes is surfacing. The concentrated power that held everyone’s tongues will loosen. This will accelerate many developments.
What I want to dispel is the dissonance that too many wankers have. It’s the mathematical nature of risk that the longer you repeat a risky action, the stronger the likelihood the action backfires. We are seeing this happen in real-time. You cannot outrun consequences forever. If you took shortcuts in growing your porn business, there is a debt to pay to higher powers.
You always pay the Ferryman to get across. Always.
If recent events involving the unmentioned entities haven’t made it clear, sneaky people get talkative. They want to boast about their successful sneakiness.
Here’s the mechanism by which sneakiness backfires: Even if you are getting away with a lot, successful sneakiness makes you arrogant and sloppy, it makes you prideful. And then you stop paying attention. Suddenly, your step slips. That’s not your leg that missed, but the Ferryman taking what’s his.
It’s even worse when you don’t get caught. You get all the money and sex you ever wanted.
Now, you’re forced to live through that life of deception. There is no going back to the truth without losing it all. You live with a nagging feeling in your bones weighing down on your soul, spending every day with what you created with your choices. The weight of that knowledge, you die with.
We take risks to get ahead in life, the occasional ace out the sleeve. Those are called “power plays”, you never build your game around them. Power plays are used sparingly, strategically, and never again. Because they start backfiring in repeated use. Lying is such a move, you should never do it, except that one time. But that time was special. Now, the card is burned.
Porn is an all-out power play, that’s the problem. Your sex business utilizes sexuality and knowledge about seduction to gain resources from others. The personality or company you develop that has this appeal is not reflective of the real you. Keeping that image up is emotionally draining in the long run. If you plan to do this a long time, you have to relax with that. Find a middle-ground where your persona or company still holds appeal without lying involved. Be a better online sex worker.
This isn’t a defense of immorality. A sustainable strategy for life does away with power plays. You live in truth. You communicate to people who you are, your history, what you want and don’t want. The other person must be allowed to make an informed choice on whether to associate with you. You can postpone that moment of truth a little, but not much. The moment always comes.
