Years ago, I reviewed Harem Heroes, which was the debut title of Kinkoid. Since then, the company has barely deviated from their success formula, making very similar games with slight changes to the sexual themes. Comix Harem is no different, it’s essentially Harem Heroes with super heroes. Is it worth your fapping hours? Let’s go balls deep and find out.
STORY
You’re an epic fuckboy named Wildman. Your super power is that your semen energizes female superheroes. This makes every bitch want to suck your loads in their pussies.
The story has a long cavalcade of characters, most of them hot-ass bitches. Seemingly every girl you meet has some basic backstory you skim over, the next moment she’s on her knees, boobs out, hot lips sucking. In between the fucking, you have segments padded with dialog. As the game focuses on delivering porn scenes on a conveyor belt, you don’t learn enough about the characters to grow to care about them and get invested in the story.
There are no stakes, nobody’s health or life is ever under threat. It’s a very light-hearted parody. You just meet new girls and fuck them right after meeting them.
I can see what the plan was, and I can even see this becoming a financially successful adult game, but it’s shooting low. Right now, all you have is a bunch of porn bodies, nothing deeper. No meaningful relationships, no tension, no themes, no subtexts. If you want an audience invested in your media, while working with audiovisual limitations, you need to tell a good story.
A little nihilism is common in erotic media. But the lack of contrast eats away at the entertainment value. There is some attempt at this. After the introduction is done, a new character shows up that vocally swears to be the villain of the protagonists. Spoiler alert, the situation is de-escalated with group sex.
GAMEPLAY
The game is primarily a visual novel that you play in the browser. Other gameplay features include a battle system and a gear system. You can level up your character and your girls, and spend skill points, all the usual shit you see in RPGs. But for the most part, the fun comes from unlocking new slides, which are gated by energy, a resource that recovers over time – instantly, if you swing your credit card. You’re constantly running out of energy, thus if you play free, you’ll unlock a few slides a day at best.
By playing the game, you’re also unwittingly participating in contests. After a few days of playing, I had unlocked a ton of rewards, and just spam-claimed all. While loot is always nice, I did absolutely nothing to be rewarded.
I played hundreds of hours of battle harem games such as Flower Knight Girl, and it felt like an actual game, despite automated combat. Because there were things to do that impacted your performance and rate of progression. Also, the visuals were great, animated, and there was voice acting.
GRAPHICS
The game has a western comic style reminiscent of DC Comics and Marvel. Everything is hand-drawn and really looks that way, like this was done pen and paper instead of digital art. I liked the visuals a lot, even the interface fits well with this style. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was the color scheme in the interface. There’s way too many colors for an interface. The lines on the artwork are rough and real, the body proportions and faces are super sexy, including the males, whose big cocks are packed tight in their pants. Everybody looks attractive, your eyes rest at all times.
MUSIC
The soundtrack has one song, at the time of writing. It’s a song you don’t mind listening on loop. As a test, I let it run in the background for a good half an hour while I did other things. I suppose it’s a merit for the songwriter that I muted it after that half-hour had passed. I truly wish the game had more music, because variety is the spice of life, especially when it comes to media meant to stimulate.
VOICE ACTING AND SOUND EFFECTS (SFX)
The game has no voice over, no sounds.
BUSINESS MODEL
You can purchase random draws of girls and items, and gold, which is spent to recoup energy. Imagine card game booster packs. The boosters are of different rarities, which adds a layer of strategy to the juggling of your in-game resources. That’s what a game like this needs, when its features are so basic; lots of meaningful choices and a variety of strategies for players doing resource management. There are also special items you can buy and “season passes”.
Topping up your energy costs over 200 gold, and purchasing 2700+ gold costs 20€. That’s a few euros per chapter. You get items and unlock new girls that become part of your harem, so there are tangential benefits to progressing in the story. With a stronger harem, you can win against other players, gain more loot and progress faster.
HENTAI
The ass is godly in this game. You see every curve wrapped in tight superhero outfits that leave little to the imagination. The fabric digs so deep in their cleavage, you can fuck them with your eyes. While I have several gripes about the game’s design, the core of it, the sexual content, is well done. The variety of scenarios and girls is good. The progression of each scene includes escalation; sweat droplets, silly orgasm faces, massive cumshots and squirting girls. Sexual themes include everything from throat-fucking to bisexual threesomes, creampies, group sex, and more.
I particularly enjoyed Golden Silk’s scenes. Her tight full-body outfit got me hard. Her introduction scene had the perfect setup that made her appear vulnerable, great for building an emotional connection quick and dirty. The sex was sweet and showed her personality, and built anticipation for her next scene.
CONCLUDING WORDS
If you like a good cocktease, this game delivers the pain of anticipation. Unlocking new content takes a while if you’re playing for free, but the tits are sweet. There are no sound effects, no voice over, and barely any music. I can recommend this game to porn addicts who enjoy western super hero comics. Start playing Comix Harem.
