Futanari Quest, developed by Studio Fah. A hentai RPG released in July 4th, 2018. Available for download on Nutaku.net for $4.99. Available for PC Windows and Mac OS. Awkward English female voice acting. Uncensored dicks and pussies.
The cringiest hentai game I’ve ever played, Futanari Quest features voice-acted sex scenes between amateur actresses who hate life. It’s an RPG parody of the death of western civilization with turn-based sex combat. If you’re a westerner with the Christian sense of shame, this game will make you want to avoid sexual intercourse until marriage and beyond.
STORY
You are an empowered western girl without sexual restraint, living with a single-mother and stepsister. You had no stern patriarch oppressing you, thus you got swooped into a sex-filled adventure in a fantasy land where STDs and unwanted pregnancies are statistically improbable. On your way out of the office, you find a mysterious box on the street. A perverted fairy with a self-loathing voice uses her magic to give you a big dick. You’re the chosen slut of the legends, destined to save western civilization from plummeting birth rates. As a second generation atheist, you immediately forsake your heteronormative gender identity and start your quest to impregnate every woman in the world.
Futanari Quest has the most forced, unnatural premise. The writers cut so many corners to force this scenario, that the only way they could have salvaged this mess was tongue-and-cheek humor. But, the game is clearly developed by low-testosterone soyboys who view humor as a human rights violation.
So, you’re transported into a medieval fantasy world filled with knights, princesses, and monster girls. This world’s civilization stopped reproducing for no discernable reason. It’s not the combined result of anti-baby propaganda, or soaring living expenses, or the destruction of national and religious identities and the resultant collapse of communities, or the crushing student debt making families financially unviable, nor is it the fault of feminism “empowering” women to postpone child-rearing until they’re infertile, or the nihilistic atheist culture that promotes promiscuity over monogamous long-term relationships, nor is it the fault of billionaires pumping millions into fake humanitarian projects that escalate the downward spiral. No, the reason why the civilization in Futanari Quest is dying is because magic.
My first target girl was princess Aria. She’s the queen of bitches. After sexing up her two guards, completing a quest, and some bitch-talk, I finally nailed her. After impregnating the princess, my next lay was an elven girl who blatantly spoiled the backstory of this game. She just tells you what happened, leaving tons of important questions unanswered. But why waste time building an interesting mystery plot, when you can put dick into pussy?
GAMEPLAY
You move around an overhead map, similar to Pokémon. In wilderness areas, such as forests, you encounter lusty monster girls and fight them in turn-based battles. Your strategy is to find the right kind of caress that cuts double the health points from enemies. Some girls enjoy groping, others find it off-putting. You can slap, tickle, or just have conversations with your enemies. Everybody likes something different.
One of the first quests I completed was a gathering quest. I had to search the world for items for a potion. After I had all the ingredients, I gave my stuff to the quest giver, and filled her pussy with my dick. I played until the princess was pregnant, which turned out to be a terrible mistake. Not spoiling what happened, but it was bad.
SOUND EFFECTS AND VOICE ACTING (SFX)
Futanari Quest has English voice acting. Almost every character I interacted with was voiced. The quality of the acting is what you’d expect from an indie hentai game. The actresses spout the awkward lines of dialog with commendable professionalism, though I got the feeling several takes may have been necessary. The whole game world being as bizarre as it is, the dialog just doesn’t flow naturally. Yui’s actress sounds like a sheltered white middle-class girl whose conservative parents did everything to protect her from the insanity of the real world. The other girls sound even worse.
I was particularly underwhelmed by Madeline’s performance. She was playing the role of a strong, stoic bodyguard. She really didn’t sound comfortable in her role. I was laughing out loud during every scene with voice acting.
Futanari Quest has gamey sound effects. You hear cute jingles when clicking things in the menu. I’m very certain these are royalty-free effects from various free websites that indie devs pillage for game assets. If you’ve played any RPG Maker games, you know what I mean.
GRAPHICS
Futanari Quest has fairly attractive character art. The artists mimic the Japanese anime style that scores of dysfunctional adults masturbate to. The sprites for Yui and other females in the game were easy on the eyes, but also terribly unimpressive. The color scheme struck me as dull. The lack of edge in the characters was present in their visual designs.
Being an RPG with a top-down map view, this game doesn’t have much background art. You see some backgrounds in the CGs and battles. They’re very basic, with flat dull colors and little detail. Even for a budget game, they’re not good. Because I also dabble in game development, I know that you can get fancier background art for just 50-100 bucks a pop. If your budget is limited, making a lengthy game is off the table, because you’ll be trading quality for quantity. You should use your resources efficiently to create a short and sweet experience for people that sticks, so customers will be more willing to shovel more resources at you for more content of the same quality. You can look at the products of successful indie companies, their model is always short and sweet.
MUSIC
The soundtrack doesn’t have a clear identity, even as the individual tracks are competent. The game is like a medieval fantasy with generic magic and monsters. You’d expect the music to match, but it doesn’t. The opening theme is the most stylistically disjointed of the tracks. A fast-paced synthetic keyboard song with highs and highlights doesn’t set the mood for adventure, or drama. It’s an empty beat that perfectly encapsulates how empty this game is as an experience.
HENTAI
The sex scenes are rarer than I expected from a game with a sex-focused premise.
The hentai scenes are fully voice-acted. The images look sexy and the scenarios, by all logic should be sexy. I personally couldn’t shake the awkward feelings that the writing was leaving me with. For sex scenes, you have to set the mood, because sex is very embarassing, and often looks damn funny. Without emotional bonding, there’s nothing sexy about slamming genitals together. It doesn’t take many failed sexual encounters that you begin to value dinner and a movie, leading up to foreplay, kissing, and the grand finale. The seduction process is what makes sex any fun.
The sex scenes make good use of camera. Cumshots get a nice zoom-in of the genital connection point. There’s also effects like white flashes to indicate that cum is shooting out of a penis. I also couldn’t find a key to hide the dialog during hentai scenes.
CONCLUDING WORDS
Futanari Quest is a fine first showing from a startup studio. Everything from the story to the gameplay could have been done better, but more than likely the studio fought tooth and nail to get this game out in any shape. The artwork is nice, and the character designs sexy. The story is a mess that’s easy enough to follow, if only it wasn’t riddled with incredibly cringy moments that just make you feel terribly ashamed.

This game is absolutely terrible. Only play it if you’re itching for the cringiest experience of your life.
