STORY
Mai Aoki owes money to the mob! Her father had a gambling problem. Now the poor little bitch is forced to participate in underground arena combat! Losing in battle means losing her virginity!
There is no overall story. Work jobs and talk to NPC’s to advance small plot points. The direction of the plot depends on player choices. Will you skip school to become a gym rat, or get a part-time job? Will you resist arrest, or talk yourself out of a bad situation?
Your mother died in a car accident and your father has skipped town. All they’ve left you, is a boxing gym in decline. If you want to, you can revive the business by attracting new members from all across town.
The player can customize the name and age of the protagonist. Fair warning though! You need to be age 21 or older to enter the bar! Otherwise you’ll have to purchase a fake ID.
The protagonist is a boxer, which means that she isn’t afraid to show off her body. You can wear erotic outfits as soon as you want, but your character will still be hesitant about sex and relationships.
The writing in this game is predictable. The lack of overall story makes it very forgettable.
GAMEPLAY
J*Fight was created with the Wolf RPG Editor, but has significant scripting to make it a completely unique experience. Movement is controlled with your keyboardโs arrow keys, or your mouse. Press Z to interact with people and objects. Press CTRL to skip dialogue. Press W to see your message history. Press ‘S’ to hide or show your character portrait. Press ‘F’ to see your general map. Press ‘T’ to advance time. Press ‘E’ to see your events log. Press ‘R’ to flash your panties or attack pedestrians. Press F4 to change screen resolution.
This game is best described as โGrand Theft Hentaiโ. Beating up pedestrians will attract the police after you. Pay the Yakuza to erase your criminal record. Earn money with side jobs and buy healing items.
This game has numerous features to explore, including sex stats, combat stats, character stats, recruiting gym members, battling in the combat arena, working part time jobs, and much more! The problem is, the game barely explains any of this. How do your raise your Lust, Purity, Wisdom, and Charm? What do they accomplish? Why are they necessary? I’ve raised my character’s wisdom very high, and noticed no difference in gameplay.
Then the combat stats. There’s Strength, Defense, Power, and Technique. How is strength different from power? And what does “technique” influence? You never get an explanation! Then at some point, your combat stats max out. Dialogue implies you can raise them further, but you’re given no information how to do that.
Other issues include a huge difficulty spike in the fourth battle, a Japanese trivia minigame that is impossible for western players to complete, and a handful of bugs that stop you from performing certain jobs.
This game has so many interesting features, but they’re hard to enjoy! A simple game manual in the pause menu would have made this game a classic. Sadly, at the time of writing, it’s too obtuse to be enjoyed fully.
GRAPHICS
The art is Japanese anime style. The artists uses shadows and shading frequently, almost too much. There are 22 base CGs with 8 cut-in images. There are over 200 variation images. There are also 168 pose art assets, and 12 outfits and 12 pieces of underwear.
The game world is huge. There are two cities to explore with a large Academy to the north. Each area has numerous interiors and NPCs that make the world feel alive. Later in the game, players can use a transport service to fast travel in town.
The pause menu is a smart phone, which fits well with the story of a young lady on her own. You have customizable wallpapers, you can call NPCs. There is a ton of depth to the phone system. You even have to pay a phone bill at the end of the week!
The character sprites are super cute! The sprites have tons of animations that provide them life-like qualities. As you change outfits, your character sprite will change as well. There is no fade to black, the sprite changes on the spot!
Characters look better in their clothes. The artist draws nudes strangely. He adds creases and crevices to skin.
VOICE ACTING AND SOUND EFFECTS (SFX)
J*Fight has no voice acting.
The sound effects in this title are mostly standard RPG Maker assets, and pretty forgettable overall. There is a cool punching sound during combat, and a standard beep for menu choices, but the game overall is quiet. Even the thrusting during sex is quiet and hard to notice. These sex scenes could have used more audio. They’re almost completely silent!
MUSIC
The soundtrack has a handful of songs, though each is instantly recognizable as unique to this game. They are all digitally synthesized without real instruments. The vague electronic tones are nice, but they’re not at all memorable.
HENTAI
The game has over 50 sex scenes, 22 base CGs, and 8 cut-in images. The most repeated scene is the blowjobs, but otherwise, you’re barely bothered by the reused CGs.
This game does not do corruption right. When you skip school to work a part-time job, your corruption level increases. I was literally just delivering newspapers, why is my character fully corrupted?! She never even had sex!
After you’re corrupted enough, the protagonist will get a tan and blonde hair. From that point onward, more erotic scenes will be unlocked where she fully becomes a gyaru slut!
The scenes are pretty generic. Plotlines are started and dropped at random. My character was being paid to give blowjobs to her teacher, but suddenly, he doesn’t want more. Why did he suddenly stop? The tone is also inconsistent. There’s a blackmail plotline that should inspire tension. Then two minutes later a girl says “It’s not rape if you like it!” and proceeds to have sex like it’s nothing.
CONCLUDING WORDS
J*Fight is a unique and very detailed hentai game. The visuals are awesome, and the world is fun. You get chased by cops, plowed by perverts, you are paid for delivering newspapers! If you enjoy Grand Theft Auto, you’ll enjoy this criminally fun bitch.
