STORY
You’re a regular guy. Yuyuna is your cute childhood friend. Chuusuke is your cowardly best friend. And Tokishi is the well endowed cool guy who’s a year older. Your party of four is trapped inside the mystery mansion!
The game has great dialog. Numerous choices throughout the game allow you to influence people and events. In particular, you can talk to Yuyuna like a gentleman, or you can act encourage her to be slutty!
The player is given several choices at the start of the game that influence whether Yuyuna has the history of a slut or a sweet virgin. The impact of every choice isn’t very clear, so you can end up with an unwanted loadout.
Yuyuna as a virgin is required for two of the game’s endings, while Yuyuna as a slut is required for at least two of the hentai scenes. None of this is explained to you, so many players will be locked out of content.
Yuyuna can be randomly deflowered even when you try to keep her a virgin. For example, she loves cats. If you say that you love dogs, she’ll fuck your friend! This is completely retarded and locks you out of two possible endings in a single dialogue choice. I hate it, because I can’t play naturally, I’m always worried about the random consequences for my choices.
The attention to detail in this game is remarkable. Depending on whether someone witnesses your actions, dialogue and events will change. Usually they just congratulate you for solving a puzzle, but it’s still cool to see character reactions.
There are seven endings to this game. The first two require that Yuyuna remains a virgin. The second two require Yuyuna fall for another man. The final three require Yuyuna embrace her base female nature.
GAMEPLAY
Gentle Girl was created with RPG Maker VXAce, the most common RPG Maker engine. Press Q to show your text log. Press A to hide the text box. Press CTRL to skip dialogue.
As a mystery and puzzle game, some parts of this game absolutely require a walkthrough. Especially because some of the puzzles can only be understood by a Japanese speaker who knows the culture.
You’re basically walking around, interacting with every object in every room. It’s exciting at first, but slowly starts to feel increasingly tedious. The pause menu has a “hint” function to point you in the right direction.
You can only control your character. The other three will explore on their own, moving around randomly. If you see a heart on a door, that means an erotic event might happen. Ignoring these doors will stop the event from occurring.
Virginity and other things are tracked in Yuyuna’s sex stats in the pause menu. Some stats can only be raised at the start of the game by determining that Yuyuna is a sex addict. So even though you may not be able to raise her “prostitution” level, you can increase pretty much every other stat.
This game can be completed in under two hours, though it may take longer if you struggle with puzzles. Most of the game works fine, but there have been reports of game-breaking bugs. I personally could not complete the game because a door would not open no matter what I did.
GRAPHICS
The art is in Japanese anime style. Yuyuna is the only character with art, and she’s a typical, plain-looking schoolgirl. She wears multiple outfits throughout the story. She has a conservative way of dressing.
There are 8 base CGs and 21 erotic scenes. The majority of scenes feature pixel art sprite sex, and the player almost walking in on sex. The eight artworks appear in the late-game where you watch Yuyuna get fucked!
From the pause menu, players can access advanced options to customize the visuals and audio of the game. For example, players can activate “special effects” to create more realistic scenes. For example, if you watch a shower sex scene, there would be steam and fog in the room. These features can be turned off at the player’s discretion.
VOICE ACTING AND SOUND EFFECTS (SFX)
Gentle Girl has no voice acting.
There are very few sound effects to be found. There are only 11 sound effects in total. Usually they play when you pick up items or navigate the menu, but usually the music carries the game. There are no sound effects during sex at all, which is erotic because you’re quietly watching, but also awkward because of how quiet it is.
MUSIC
There are 37 songs on the soundtrack, but only two or three are ever used. They are digitally synthesized and taken directly from the RPG Maker stock library. In spite of being trapped in a mansion, this game is never scary, so there was never an opportunity for dramatic music.
My favorite track was the title music for being uncommon and enchanting. It’s a delicate lullaby, you hear notes like they came from a music box. The weirdest part was how there’s no music at all during sex scenes. You watch the fucking in complete silence, which is weird.
HENTAI
There are 8 base CGs and 21 erotic scenes. The primary focus of the game is on voyeurism and NTR content. You listen at the door as your childhood friend is getting plowed, it’s so taboo and wrong, but also incredibly hot!
Most scenes in this game are focused on the clueless cuckold fetish. You’re completely oblivious of your beloved giving blowjobs to another man, right under the table! While you’re trying to solve puzzles, she’s taking creampies in her pussy! In the entire game, your character remains a virgin, only getting to watch as other men fuck the girl!
Sex stats are tracked and help determine your ending. If you loved to peep in and watch her fucking, you might end up with the cheating ending! Sex stats are also tied to titles. At first Yuyuna is a simple “virgin”, but if you encourage her to be lewd and allow other men to plow her, she’ll eventually earn the title of “meat toilet”!
