STORY
Rathi was an orphan until Ophelia took her in and raised her as a knight. Life was good, and today was the first day of Rathi’s duty as a true junior knight. But that all changed when her mentor went missing.
Demons have lived underground ever since they lost a great war with humanity. They were dormant until a new dungeon appeared in the town of Sujalta. That dungeon is connected to the underground, and allowed a powerful demon to influence the human world. The Hypno King, he is the reason Ophelia has gone missing.
Rathi’s hometown was actually destroyed by demons, so this mission carries personal stakes. Although she was only supposed to investigate the area, Rathi decides to explore the dungeon and save Ophelia!
All of the above is simply setup for the story, beyond that, there is no story. Simply kill monsters and find all the staircases down the dungeon. The game can be completed in one sitting without ever leaving the dungeon. In the good ending, Rathi decides to travel the world hunting demons and saving people. In the bad ending, Rathi becomes impregnated by the Hypno King. There are also miscellaneous bad endings like becoming the wife of an orc in the dungeon.
The ending you receive depends entirely on how hypnotized and corrupted Rathi has become. I was clean, so I resisted the hypnosis and captured the Mayor, who was working alongside the Hypno King. That explains why the Mayor was so insistent on you investigating the dungeon. Overall, it’s a neat little story that ends without any loose questions.
GAMEPLAY

This game can be completed in under an hour. I was level 15 when I completed it, and one-shot every boss I met. My health never dropped below 80%. Seriously, this was one of the easiest RPGs I’ve ever played. And the lack of side quests made it the quickest.
The developer commentary in the recollection room literally says this game was born from him just playing around with RPG Maker. To have the most fun, approach this title as a way to kill an hour with a big titty knight girl. Keep your expectations low.
The fact that the game can be completed without ever returning to town speaks volumes of how limited it really is. There was never a need to worry about money or equipment because your skills are so damn powerful. I wish this game was more challenging so it would last longer.
GRAPHICS
There are about 20 unique CGs. Most scenes are found by losing in battle, getting hypnotized, and then returning to town. The recollection room can be accessed via the teleporter at the dungeon entrance.
The dungeon has five floors. Cave zone, icy zone, lava zone, castle zone, and purple demon zone. While visually distinct, the level design remains simplistic with large corridors and small rooms throughout.
The only town in this game is Sujalta, and it only has four buildings in it. Naturally, there are only a handful of NPCs and it’s hard to imagine any sort of community actually living here.
The developer used the default pause menu interface of RPG Maker MV. Similarly, they did not disable the “Made in MV” logo fade at the start of the game. On top of that, Rathi’s character sprite is a default asset that looks nothing like her. Altogether, the developer really did nothing at all to customize this game besides producing some standing art.
Rathi’s default outfit is practically nude and completely nonsensical. She’s a knight, but she’s showing all that skin. And the late game reveal about the magic statues really lost its impact since they were stock assets and didn’t really stand out. Altogether, the visual presentation of this game was bare bones at best.
VOICE ACTING AND SOUND EFFECTS (SFX)
Rookie Knight Rathi has no voice acting.
The sound effects are stock RPG Maker assets. Since Rathi only uses her sword throughout the entire game, there’s no opportunity to mix up the audio.
MUSIC
There are 14 tracks total, all from the RPG Maker MV library. Ship3, Dungeon2, Theme6, and so much more. Due to the lack of licensed tracks, or really anything outside the stock library, there is nothing worthy of praise. From the moment you start the game you’ll be bombared with generic digitally synthesized chimes, and that will remain throughout your entire experience.
HENTAI
Rookie Knight Rathi features 50 scenes but only 20 unique CGs. The scene room features hints on where to find them if you’re curious, but the game is 100% defeat sex. Simply lose to a monster to enter a hypnotized state, then go into town to initiate sex.
The visuals tend to emphasize the breasts of Rathi and Ophelia, using positions like standing sex and doggystyle. Due to the hypno focus, dialogue usually boils down to Rathi eagerly awaiting a cock with glee. While this can be repetitive, sometimes her enthusiasm is incredibly hot like when she returns to Knight Headquarters, completely pregnant! Her superior sees her pregnant belly and is in complete shock!
The primary focus of this game is hypnosis and mind control. Pregnancy is only one scene in the bad ending. It’s never states that Rathi was a virgin, felt humiliated, or enjoyed exhibitionism. Everything is a result of hypnosis, which truly weakens the impact of certain scenes. I prefer games where hypnosis is a small part of the corruption, rather than the total focus.
Fucking faceless townspeople is enjoyable enough, but it often feels like random sex scenes. Gamers play eroge hoping for setup, buildup, and anticipation. Instead, this game delivers fast and frequent scenes like a McDonald’s drive-through.
CONCLUDING WORDS
Rookie Knight Rathi is a reminder to never judge a book by its cover. Although this game looks like a high-quality hidden gem eroge, it can be completed in under an hour. It features no unique audio or visuals outside of sex scenes. Although the game is good for a quick fap, it remains a forgettable adult RPG experience.
