Hentai RPG Game Review: Shinobi Buster

The game is not long. I beat the whole thing in less then 10 hours. There is not much beynd the plot. The only twist comes at the very end, when you find out the nymphomanic curse only lasted a week. Really, Mizuna is just really fucking horny.

GRAPHICS

The game is made with RPG maker, a free software that’s popular among indie hentai game developers. It’s very retro. The top-down perspective lets you see the rooftops of the cozy houses that people live in, the roomy motel you can sleep at, and even the grave stones of the graveyards. The character sprite art is Japanese anime-style, though perhaps somewhat cheap-looking. Sure, there’s shadows and little highlights, the colors look good, and especially the women look fuckable enough. It’s a matter of taste, so search your soul whether you possess the capacity to appreciate older style anime art, or whether you’ve been spoiled by the newer material that’s being produced with modern digital art programs.

The main villains you fight are generic anime ninjas: they look old, evil, and rugged. They’re decently drawn buggers, and ugly enough that you feel at ease when putting them out of their misery. If you like fapping to older adult anime, you will enjoy this art.

GAMEPLAY

The gameplay is easy to figure out for new players. It plays just like any basic RPG. You have two modes: The regular part where you’re walking with your little character, and the fighting part, where you confont enemies in turn-based combat. If you’ve played Pokémon, Golden Sun, Final Fantasy, or any other Japanese RPG, you know the drill. The developer did not innovate on the gameplay part, at all.

You have a curse counter, that you need to keep tabs of. When it starts reaching close to 100%, Mizuna needs to masturbate. So, walk into a safe secluded area, and fap it out. Just don’t let other game characters see you! There is a quick game menu to use items, change location, and get some clit flicking done when needed.

In the battle mode, you face an enemy, or a group of enemies. On your turn, you select from a little menu: use an item, attack your target, defend, or flee. Of these options, I never used defend. Offense is the best defense anyway, right? After your turn is done, it’s the enemy’s turn to attack you. Rinse and repeat, until one of you is dead. And by “dead”, I mean that the only penalty for losing a battle is rape.

MUSIC

The entertainment factor of this game relies more on the visuals, than anything the audio brings to the party. It’s generic stuff, that doesn’t really bother you. Really, you can find this kind of music in any other hentai game, and will forget it once you’re done playing. It sounds like they made it from a midi file. Imagine “beep boop” 8-bit music. Ever fapped to Super Mario? I guess you’ll cum buckets here.

SOUND EFFECTS AND VOICE ACTING (SFX)

There is very little voice acting in this game. You don’t hear Mizuna’s cries of passion, when she fucks. Strangely I didn’t feel like I was missing out, as the lack of voices didn’t clash with the game’s tone, set by the low production values. It would’ve felt more out of place, if a famous voice actress was hired for a project of this kind.

Sound effects remind you of the games of yore that Shinobi Buster took its inspiration from. There’s lots of clangs, and thumps during the battles. You hear metal on metal when using a blade, or when one of your animal companions attacks with their claws. Magical spells sound like pops and bangs, like audio mixed in a computer sound board. Shit sounds cheap, not gonna sugar-coat.

HENTAI

On the hentai front, Shinobi Buster offers delightful variety for your nut busting assistance. There’s straight sex, lesbian sex, masturbation, even sex with a perfect clone of yourself. With Mizuna’s nymphomanic curse, there is a lot of masturbation. The overall tone of the game is very sexually charged. The genitals are pixelated, which is odd, given that western censorship laws don’t necessitate this. I’m guessing the Japanese developer didn’t expect to sell the game in the western market, and thus never kept the original uncensored art. On the positive side, the sex scenes are decently animated. Real sex is, after all, very grindy and repetitive, so making a nice animated loop is nothing complicated. Honestly, hentai game developers have no excuse not to add animation to their games.

CONCLUDING WORDS

Shinobi Buster is a fun sexy hentai RPG with ninjas. The hentai portions are well done, but the visuals may feel dated, with the whole 90’s vibe. The game grows on you quickly, and keeps your boner up. The gameplay is easy to pick up for players of all skill levels. The titular girl is hot and she gets plenty of dick and tongue violating her little pussy. What’s not to like?
