STORY
Iria tried to make it as an adventurer. She failed, and now doesn’t have enough money to survive! Thankfully, she meets a nice lady named Naju who offers her assistance in getting back to the city.
The story is fairly complex, engaging, and very well written. The main character is an orphan of a forgotten war, who was left on the steps of a church orphanage. She’s now left home to seek wealth and fame from the big city of Trielebe.
Iria learns about the power of “Gate Crystals” and how they summon monsters that terrorize humanity. Someone, somewhere, has been trying to harness these crystals for their own sinister purposes.
Who is the masked man creating these crystals? How has he gotten the wealth and manpower to do this? Why is he engaging in this conspiracy? And what connection does Naju have with any of this?
This game does not offer any kinky sex. It’s story-focused and character-driven. The story is linear, and only has one ending.
GAMEPLAY
Gran Ende was created with RPG Maker, but has significant scripting that makes it unique to play. You move with the arrow keys and press spacebar to interact with objects and people. Press CTRL to skip dialogue. Press ‘Q’ to access the world map.
It’s a standard dungeon crawler, with significant improvements on the formula. You can totally brute force your way by grinding levels for your characters, but there’s much more interesting ways to play this.
There’s a bounty system, a quest system to earn fame, a boss tower to earn rare items, a jobs system to earn money in town, and a prostitution system to unlock new secrets. Each of these systems is connected to the three stats in the game. Fame increases with adventuring jobs and decreases when you’re homeless, or prostitute yourself. Charm increases with a good night’s sleep and being a waitress, but decreases when you get drunk and act slutty in public. Lust increases with lewd actions and will never decrease.
Each stat offers its own rewards for raising it. For example, more fame will open up better equipment at the armor shop. More lust will open up better hentai scenes. More charm will open up new jobs and promotions.
Battles have an MP and TP system. Magic Points (MP) are spent when casting spells, which you learn from the magic shop in town. Technique Points (TP) are spent on special sword attacks that you learn from leveling up.
If all of this sounds too complicated, just prostitute yourself. Selling your ass is a great shortcut. Just make money from sex, buy incredibly powerful weapons, and fly through the game. Sleep with the son of the weapon shop owner for special deals!
GRAPHICS
The art is classic Japanese anime style. All the visuals look great and stylistically consistent. Even as anime girls tend to have the same face, each character in this game has a unique appearance that sets them apart.
Aria is your typical busty blue-haired heroine with revealing clothing. From her long metallic arm bands to her single strand of hair out of place, her unique design makes her both memorable and sexy.
The expressions for Aria are cute and well-designed. Her expressions range from surprise to shame to lusty, and more. Her eyes are covered by her hair when she orgasms, which puts all focus on her blushing face and gorgeous breasts.
Enemy designs include unique art and stock assets. Spiders and giants are RPG Maker stocks, while water spirits and chimeras have unique art. The town of Trielebe has an orphanage, a hotel, a library, a market square, an apartment complex, and so much more! Each building has a purpose and reason to be there. For example, the library will teach you all about monster weaknesses.
VOICE ACTING AND SOUND EFFECTS (SFX)
Gran Ende has no voice acting.
The available sound effects are varied and well placed. From the slash of a sword to the sparkling of magic, the audio is well done. Each action has impact, and each sound is memorable. You can easily tell which spell, or sword technique was used by the sounds alone.
MUSIC
There are 32 songs in this game, most of them royalty-free stock music.
The music shines during sex scenes. The music is diverse and fits perfectly with the varied situations. There is room for improvement, but the developer did a good job overall. All of the music has a lively and bouncy tone, when they could have added more somber tracks. On more serious moments, the music cuts to silence completely. Those scenes would have been better with any background noise.
HENTAI
The game has 34 base CGs, not counting the character stills. There are 33 total hentai scenes to be found. Every scene is unique and no artwork gets recycled.
Although the sexual content is vanilla, it is a perfect example of the genre done right! For example, someone may offer you advice on the next dungeon, but only if they can grope your tits. A shopkeeper may offer a special deal on weapons, but only if you give them a handjob.
Every sex scene is optional and completely avoidable. If you want to play this game like an RPG with no sexual content, you can do that easily. This is a slow burn corruption game, so you can easily choose some light groping but keep your virginity intact.
My favorite scene was working at the brothel. A young man who just turned 18 was taken by his father to the brothel. Iria ends up sandwiched between both guys in an incredibly hot threesome that ends with a virgin leaving a sloppy creampie in her pussy!

Gran Ende is the perfect indie RPG title. The game is eight hours long and there’s lots to explore! The story is complex and full of interesting twists, the hentai is very well paced, and the gameplay is super engaging. If you’re looking for a hentai game that prioritizes gameplay first and hentai second without compromising either, this title will hit your spot.
