Play as Amelia, the older sister who has to explore a dungeon and avoid getting corrupted. This dungeon is known to change people, but can Amelia be the first one to resist it?
STORY
Amelia’s little sister is in love with her! She convinces Amelia to enter the dungeon of corruption, hoping to see a change in their relationship. Will Amelia fall victim to the vices of the dungeon? Or can she resist the temptations?
The game has three basic endings. Depending on your corruption level, Amelia will fall for her little sister. What happens in the dungeon will determine how corrupted she’ll become, so your choices will determine the ending.
If you ignore all lewd content, the game is pretty lonely. The number of NPC’s is few, and there’s no real reason to interact with them outside of erotic scenes. Although this is a Patreon title, it was released back in 2017, before Patreon cracked down on adult content. This means that themes of forced exposure and step-sister love are given full attention, rather than being censored.
Be warned that there are numerous typos and spelling mistakes. Some of the dialogue is untranslated gibberish. It seems this was a Russian developer who simply translated his game into English, but he wasn’t thorough, which means not all dialogue is clear. This was lazy, and made the already bland dialogue even harder to pay attention to.
GAMEPLAY
Unusual Day of Amelia was created with the RPG Maker game engine. Use the arrow keys to move, press enter when you want to make a decision. There are no advanced functions such as hiding or fast-forwarding the dialogue.
It’s a standard dungeon crawler. You beat enemies, buy items, repeat until the game is over. A virgin playthrough is only an hour long, so this shouldn’t feel too repetitive. In contrast, a slutty playthrough may take twice as long because you have no hints on where to find the scenes. The gameplay is super grindy, but it’s part of the charm. Amelia starts at level 1 with no items or equipment or skills, literally punching everything in sight. By the end of the game, you’ll feel like a walking tank.
The ending to the game is crap. You play an instant-death minigame three times in a row after becoming a transgender man and being given level 99. Completing the game has no reward or closure or new game plus function. It was just random. And what was the point of leveling up, if you’re getting max level anyway?
GRAPHICS
The artstyle is a mixture of cartoon and anime, unique to this developer.
Although there are 17 scenes, there are only 5-6 base CGs. The blowjob artwork repeats many times, with small variations depending on the scene. This makes the visuals repetitive. The game is made entirely of stock RPG Maker assets. The item shop, the equipment, the monsters, are all generic parts of the dungeon crawler experience. There is nothing unique about the visuals.
Worse still, the presentation of these assets is horrible. Scene transitions are bad, with spirit spawning and despawning right before your eyes. When the screen should fade to black, it doesn’t work correctly and you can see assets being moved around. Even outside of cutscenes, enemies have a tendency to spawn directly in front of you. Regardless of whether you were avoiding enemies, one will inevitably spawn in your path. Repetitious CGs and horrible presentation are just the beginning: There’s floating penises in sex scenes. Ugh!
VOICE ACTING AND SOUND EFFECTS (SFX)
Unusual Day of Amelia has no voice acting.
The sound effects are hit or miss. During werewolf sex I absolutely loved the sound of Amelia and her partner slapping against each other. During elderly sex, I hated the vaginal sex for sounding like a pile of wet bubble wrap! This inconsistent sound design was especially disappointing because it’s clear the developer could have done better.
MUSIC
The soundtrack is 47 songs in total. Only a handful are used, and they are from the RPG Maker stock library. The differences between “Dungeon Track 1” and “Dungeon Track 5” are microscopic. These stock tracks are synthesized and manufactured to be as emotionless as the stock assets.
HENTAI
There are 17 scenes in total, spread out over 5-6 base CGs with numerous variation images. The focus of the game is on Amelia slowly getting corrupted. Amelia starts the game with level 20 willpower. As she sleeps around and opens her legs for various men, she’ll soon lose that willpower and be open to new experiences. None of this is neccesary though, because all sex scenes can be viewed at the start of the game.
There were too many repetitive blowjob scenes, and the images faded into variations slowly, hurting the tension of the scenes. However, this game truly does shine when it comes to erotic dialogue and setups!
My favorite scene was also the shortest. Amelia is working as a maid when one of the guests asks to see her breasts. She was just cleaning up, minding her own business, but decides to indulge him. The guy is so cute, she exposes her breasts and invites him to grab them! He fondles her and gets more and more horny, then she walks away and leaves! I wanted to see more but the scene ended, and she never speaks to him again! This is terrible! There was so much potential and buildup, but the developer wasted it all!
CONCLUDING WORDS
Unusual Day of Amelia is a standard RPG dungeon crawler with corruption elements. The sound effects were good and the sex scenes were even better, I just wish they lasted longer! This developer has tons of potential, and I can’t wait to see what he does next!
