STORY

The idol you manage is secretly in love with you! Will you win her heart? Or lose her to a rich businessman? Good luck with the competition, because this material girl is choosing the man who can make her famous!

The writing is bare-bones. As you progress, more people will notice Ayaka on the street and her fandom will grow. In the love route, she’ll open up to you about how grateful she is to have you by her side. She never thought she’d reach her dream of being an idol, but with your support and kindness, she has.

In the pure love route, you start dating and live happily ever after. In the netorare route, you lose her to another man.

Bad guy way is pretty dry cut. The love route comes off more genuinely heartwarming. She even tells her boss that she’d quit being an idol if it meant changing producers. She’s such a good girl, she’s genuinely willing to put your relationship before her career. We all indulge in escapist fantasies sometimes.

GAMEPLAY

Idol Project NTR was created with RPG Maker MV. This enables mouse functionality at the cost of significant lag in the singing mini-game. Right-click to hide the text box. Press CTRL or ALT to skip text. Use the mouse wheel for the backlog.

Ayaka has three stats tied to three minigames. Knowledge is tied to the quiz game. Singing is tied to the rhythm game. Dancing is tied to the memory game. The knowledge stat and quiz game were not enabled in the final product. They are only accessible from the bonus screen on the main menu.

The game cycle follows Ayaka from Monday to Friday. For the first four days, you practice singing and dancing. On the fifth day, Ayaka does a live appearance. Her singing and dancing stats must be high enough, or she’ll fail the performance and things go badly.

The singing minigame has significant lag that’s associated with the game engine. However, there is no penalty for spamming your clicks to succeed.

The developer clearly had a variety of cool ideas, but released the game on a deadline. From an item shop in the recollection room, to a custom scene creator, there are a variety of oddities.

GRAPHICS

The art in this game is drawn in the anime style, and there are only five unique CGs in total.

There are five pure love scenes and five NTR scenes. They both use identical artworks, with a small variation on the male partner. This was extremely lazy by the developer. Outside of experiencing the dialogue, there is no reason to try another route after you beat the game.

Ayaka has three outfits. Her idol clothing, her casual skirt, and her gym unitard. Each outfit is super cute and sexy, but the lack of scenes hurts their appeal. For example, you never get to fuck Ayaka in her gym clothes!

Ayaka’s character design is super cute, but pretty generic. Her navy blue hair is tied back into a ponytail, and her emerald green eyes are captivating, but that’s pretty much it. She’s always smiling and never gets mad or irritated. The lack of serious design holds this character back from being truly memorable.

VOICE ACTING AND SOUND EFFECTS (SFX)

Idol Project NTR has no voice acting.

The chimes and beeps of success and failure are nice, but felt kind of lazy. When Ayaka is practicing her dance steps, it would have been better to hear some feet shuffling, or maybe hear her fall over when you get a puzzle wrong. The moaning during sex is incredibly erotic.

MUSIC

The soundtrack has 31 tracks in total, but only three are ever played. The only unique track is when Ayaka practices her singing. Sadly, you can only listen to the track during the rhythm minigame. I wish there was a music room, so I could fully enjoy her vocals. Altogether the game was lacking any individuality when it comes to sound design.

HENTAI

Idol Project NTR features 10 sex scenes in total. There are only five unique CG images.

The netorare content is completely avoidable as long as Ayaka performs well. If you pursue the NTR route to its conclusion, you walk in on Ayaka fucking another man. While incredibly hot, the scene ends the moment you walk through the door. That turned all my excitement into disappointment.

Ayaka is so cute! She tells you often that she wants to be spoiled with love and kisses. In between minigames you can give her headpats, that make her smile and give a sweet comment. When you’re together with her, it really feels like you’re making love.

Missionary, cowgirl, and standing sex are the three positions available. Ayaka gives the standard dialogue of “I love feeling you inside me”. Some of the scenes are far too short. Still, the focus of this game is on the romance, not the sex scenes.

CONCLUDING WORDS

Idol Project NTR is a unique game in the cheating genre. Will Ayaka fall in love with her producer, or fuck her way to the top? Rather than a husband and wife, this game focuses on losing the beloved employee you had a crush on. For a nice change of pace in the NTR genre, this game is a great new fapping experience.
