STORY

The voice cast for this episode did an amazing job. The male characters go from pathetic to sexually charged and frustrated while the female cast starts off smug and bitchy before being turned into mindless sex slaves.

MUSIC

Saint Slave Academy 2 uses synthetic instruments for its music. The soundtrack has a decent number of tracks that are expertly played throughout the episode. 

When the mood needs to be dark and sinister, the music will slow down. When we need to pick up the pace with lots of high octane sex, the music adjusts accordingly. The yelling of the characters throughout the scene serves as a good way of hiding when new songs start.

ANIMATION

The visuals are passable. Each of the main girls has a distinctive design with different breast sizes, ages, hair and eye color, so there is someone for everyone to fap to. The male characters are all throwaway in the looks department.

The studio takes a few shortcuts though. Certain scenes feature faceless characters. Close-up scenes are sometimes used to cover up the animators’ laziness when it comes to background art. 

The hentai features amazing shots during sex. The animation will speed up or down depending on the intensity of thrusts. Female bodies will twitch and arch when they’re struggling against pain or overcome with pleasure. Cum looks deliciously gooey and plentiful. The camera prefers to show us how wildly breasts bounce during a fuck.

STORY

Spoiler alert! Even if you do everything right, soldiers will be waiting outside to capture and gangbang Frey at the end of the game. There is no good ending. I recommend playing only for the hentai, because the bad ending renders your efforts pointless.

A lot of the writing here is frankly retarded. You’re called the Goddess of Runelight but you’re LV1 and totally weak. If you try to pick up a sword, Frey is forced into sex. So you’re stuck spending the entire game walking around, fighting hand-to-hand. It felt like a stupid way of making the game harder, and ruined any sense of suspension of disbelief for me.

The way you escape from prison is just stupid. Frey just says “If you were a real man you wouldn’t tie me up” and the guard responds “Oh shit you’re right, I’ll just untie you”. I swear the writer put in zero effort whatsoever.

There’s a minor subplot with a platoon commander named Grace. She defected to Lambert and helped them capture you. Even though you never see this, Frey says she was suspicious of Grace all along. It’s pretty pointless though, since regardless of what you do to Grace, Frey still gets captured at the end of the game.

GAMEPLAY

Lady Knight Frey was created in RPG Maker MV. There is no text log or hiding text boxes. There are no level-ups or equipment changes.

The vast majority of the game is focused on learning the movement patterns of guards in order to navigate through the dungeon without being seen. I recommend saving your progress often, since the game has some bullshit moments. For example, if you step on a red bottle on the floor, all guards can be randomly alerted. You are given no indication this is a threat, so you’re likely to get caught even though you tried your best.

Enemy line of sight is inaccurate. Sometimes I can walk through it, other times I’m many steps away but still seen somehow. Much of the game feels cheap. Like when the soldiers search the library, all you need to do is walk in circles to escape. Or before you face the final boss, it’s a literal coin flip as to if you walk into the room with the tip to defeat him or not. The tip is, he unleashes a one-shot kill attack on the fifth turn.

The most severe flaw in this game is the long narrow hallway. You are given no indication of what to do, but you must walk only on the flat parts of the floor. If a texture looks even a little bit rocky, it will cause you to get caught. Again, you are given no indication of the special route you had to take, you’re just condemned to lose for no reason.

GRAPHICS

There are 12 CGs in total. All artworks focus on a frontward view of Frey, so you never get to see that fat ass. A different view would be appreciated. Especially with Frey only having one outfit through the entire game.

I absolutely hate the tiny character sprites used in RPG Maker MV games. Frey’s sprite has practically no memorable features because it’s smaller than the size of my pinky, it’s terrible! And the enemy sprites are no better!

The entire game takes place in a concrete fortress, so it gets very repetitive, very fast. And because you cannot backtrack, it feels more like a kinetic novel than a true exploration experience. A much better game with this scenario is Escape Fort Lugohm.

A big issue with this game is that we never actually see the nations of RuneLight and Lambert. Although we know Frey is out on a scouting mission, we don’t know exactly how far she has traveled. Are Lambert forces deep into the border, or did Frey provoke this by crossing into Lambert territory? Without even a world map or other visual cue, we have no method of conceptualizing anything besides titties!

VOICE ACTING AND SOUND EFFECTS (SFX)

Lady Knight Frey has no voice acting.

The sound effects are limited due to the lack of battle skills and areas outside the fort. It’s all just Frey punching people! The only time where sound design plays a big role is towards the ending when Grace tries to alert the guards by making a ton of noise. Even though, it’s such a small part of the overall experience, it’s not as impactful as it should be.

MUSIC

There are 17 tracks total, all from the RPG Maker stocks library. While the title music is nice, everything is too generic. It’s all digital synth without discernible instruments and largely forgettable. Truly, it feels the developer just dragged in some stock tracks and placed them in the game to fill the silence.

HENTAI

Lady Knight Frey has 12 CGs total. All scenes are forced sex after being detained by horny soldiers. While most are simply a matter of being found sneaking around, there’s occasionally a unique scenario found.

I like how if you blindly trust Grace, she knocks you out and hands you over to a horde of men. I also liked how, about halfway through the game, you get some dialogue choices when speaking to a nervous guard. If you’re nice to him, he’ll let you go. If you’re rude, he’ll pounce! I love when games do this! It makes me feel like I caused the lewd scene myself, rather than it just happening out of the blue.

In spite of these standout scenes, the vast majority of the game is generic prison sex. Strong men see a redhead with big titties and they take that pussy as their own. As your first h-game, this would be a great experience. If you’ve played eroge before though, this feels like it’s lacking an extra oomph to carry it to your list of favorites.

Lady Knight Frey is a standard adult release from this developer. He loves bad endings, loves forced sex, and apparently hates writing with any kind of depth. But if you’re looking for something more, you’ll be sorely disappointed. For a short and quick fap, this is a great porno experience.

While the game is advertised as having multiple endings, I’ve only unlocked two. They seem to be determined by money, number of babies, or some other factors. It’s never properly explained.

GAMEPLAY

Sugoroku SEX Dice was created in the Wolf RPG engine, an engine well known for high quality titles. Press A for the text log. Press X to hide the text box or explore the map. Press Shift to skip dialogue. The difficulties are easy and normal.

While the game may look complicated, it’s actually super easy. It’s a board game where you circle the board five times to win! After the first loop you’ll have all the mechanics down! It’s so user-friendly, it could easily be patched for multiplayer!

Red tiles are prostitution, which earn you money. Purple tiles are battles, and you’ll lose money if defeated. There are also shop tiles to spend money on outfits or special dice. When you really need to a roll a three, purchase it from the shop!

After having sex three times, you’ll get pregnant. This means prostitution is impossible until you cross a hospital tile. You can also buy a quick-birth card from the store. Shop inventories are always randomized, so try to save your money!

There’s also a “Haramase Spirit”. When he catches you, your character will lose half her money! You can avoid him by getting behind him or purchasing an insurance card. With that card, he’ll disappear from the game and you’ll lose no money.

Having babies raises your combat level, so purple tiles become easy. Having sex regains your HP. All dice rolls are randomized in case you’re a sore loser. While the game can get repetitive on the later laps, it’s still a well-crafted experience. Board games like this mix gambling with strategy to create a super addictive experience.

GRAPHICS

The art is drawn in the Japanese anime style. There are 20 CGs, one for each scene. Most scenes also have outfit variations. There are five outfits in total ranging from a bunny suit to a nurse uniform.

There are two types of prostitution in this game. The first kind is with random people, and is always shown through sprite animations. From cunnilingus to standing sex, the animated characters are totally cute with their simple animation loops.

The second kind of prostitution offers full-screen CG images. From a gangbang with pirates to a deep creampie from a single nobleman, the variety is fantastic. Cowgirl and doggystyle are the most common positions.

Although it’s a board game, the world design is fantastic. While the starting zone is residential and safe, the later areas are full of monsters hidden in forests with scary trees. Just a glance at the map will tell you how dangerous the journey will be.

VOICE ACTING AND SOUND EFFECTS (SFX)

Sugoroku SEX Dice features full voice acting for Momoko. Some random encounters lack voice acting, but all sex scenes are fully voiced. You hear such classic Japanese hentai dialog as “kyaaah, senpai!” with the high pitch indicating your dick is the biggest she ever had. The developers played it safe with the writing, so I can’t blame the voice actress. She did a great job, she just needed a wider variety of lines. Loading a save file to hear the girl say “continue?” was the cutest thing ever.

The sound effects in this game are standard to most Wolf RPG editor titles. Rather than a dramatic slashing sound, all attacks make an “oomf” sound. Sometimes the sound design felt too safe. When you get caught by a haramase spirit, I would have loved a scary laugh. Instead, the game launches into a sex scene.

MUSIC

The soundtrack has a handful of songs. It’s a boardgame, there isn’t much need for dramatic guitar solos. Most tracks rely on piano variants and string instruments. The primary track relies on digitally synthesized maracas and xylophones. I never felt disappointed with the music. It fills the silence, while letting the voice actress carry the show.

The game has 20 CGs spread over 20 scenes. The two endings have unique visuals.

Most of the 20 scenes have variations depending on outfit. In a normal outfit, the dialog is about fucking a sexy babe. Meanwhile, sex in the nurse outfit features roleplay! The “doctor” needs to put his needle in you to give you special white “medicine”. It’s admittedly cheesy but kind of hot.

STORY

This is the most lazily written game I’ve ever played. You are half-dragon and half-human, the only one of your kind! You were exiled from dragon society and have lived your life as an outcast. You can one-shot any guy who comes your way. In fact, the goddess herself recognizes your strength and has crowned you prince of the world for having so much potential.

I wish this was a joke, but the plot is just shitty. A beautiful virgin elf babe needs your help after her village was burned down! Escape the prison island and track down who did it! Then, you need to prevent an assassination attempt. Then, you need to fight a nobleman working alongside a soul reaper! None of this flows smoothly to come together into a cohesive plot. Everything feels way too fucking random.

The plot is nonsensical. You simply do things because you’re told to. Even your own party members distrust you and dislike you, because your character is careless. After all, he’s too cool to care about the rules. And he’s half dragon, so he can always just turn into a dragon when things get tough.

Even when the writer tries to develop a plot-point, it goes horribly wrong. For example, the mage named Roan is a racist who wants to facilitate the genocide of the white elves, so the dark elves can take over. This plot point is dropped completely after you have sex with her.

Without a well crafted plot, this game boils down to wandering the world doing random things. This is the first time the developer ever tried to craft a long-form story, and it shows. The writing is cringe-inducing.

GAMEPLAY

Mandrake Erode 0 was created with RPG Maker VX Ace, the most common version of the engine. Use the arrow keys to move. Press Z and X to interact with the world. There is no dialogue skip.

There is no game cycle. Your character is an overpowered badass who can defeat any enemy from level one. You can train if you want to, but it makes absolutely no difference, and the levels are spaced out far apart.

You get an item, given at the start of the game, that turns off random encounters. That’s how easy this game is. You can avoid all random encounters and still be strong enough to defeat all the bosses.

Similarly, money has little meaning. By the time you reach your first town, you’ll already have tons of money. There are random treasure chests everywhere, which ensure you’re always well equipped.

When combat does happen, it’s an incredibly boring event. There are no status effects, and characters rarely if ever gain new spells. This leads to repetitive gameplay.

GRAPHICS

The art is traditional Japanese anime style. All images focus on the main character deflowering another random woman.

Visually, this is the best game the developer ever made. Full screen CGs are used, not only in sex scenes, but also in dramatic moments to establish emotion and stakes.

The world map is absolutely enormous. While at first you’re led to believe the game takes place on prison island, by the end you realize how huge the world really is. After escaping the island, the map expands out to include the entire coastline and the inland areas of the continent. It’s made very clear that future releases by the developer will continue expanding the world.

There are 44 artworks in total. This game is extremely linear, and it’s impossible to miss sceens. You can play this game with a relaxed mindset, at your own pace. My only complaint is that NPC sprites don’t appear during dialogue cutscenes. Even the shortest of indie titles have done this, but this game uses a blank screen for conversations.

VOICE ACTING AND SOUND EFFECTS (SFX)

Mandrake Erode 0 has no voice acting.

The sound effects are all stock assets from the RPG Maker library. The punches prompt a “thud” sound, while healing spells are accompanied by a whimsical “whoosh”. For a game this long and creative, I was expecting at least a handful of unique audio assets, but nope.

MUSIC

The soundtrack has 35 songs in total. All tracks are completely unique and downright fantastic. You have Hawaiian drums, bass guitar, a perfectly timed drum line, and more. This is the type of music you’d expect from an experience and accomplished game company. It’s strange hearing this music in a small indie hentai RPG!

The quality of the music is very impressive. It covers genres from adult contemporary to electronic techno! The main menu theme even has lyrics, mixed and blended by a fantastic DJ that makes those turntables produce magic!

Some of these tracks you could easily imagine appearing in the latest Super Mario game. Other tracks feel taken from nostalgic Super Nintendo RPGs like Secret of Mana. They are stupidly good. The flutes bring me to tears and the guitar makes me want to rock and roll!

HENTAI

The game is advertised as having 44 artworks, but it only has 23 sex scenes. This is because some sex scenes have multiple positions, and many of the artworks are used outside of sex scenes. There’s head-pats and other cute scenes.

The game is very linear, so it’s impossible to miss a scene. What you’ll realize as you play is that most of the girls only get one or two scenes. This was disappointing to me, because I wanted to see a lot more scenes of certain girls. It comes down to personal preferences, but I’d rather have lots of scenes with one girl, rather than 20 different one-night stands.

Erotic dialogue is almost always the same. You deflower a chick who begs you not to cum inside but you do it anyway. The guy is super aggressive but the dialogue makes a joke of it. I’m fine watching forced sex, but this game handles it so weirdly. And with everyone low-key hating the protagonist, it was pretty hard to watch.

Because Drake is half human and half dragon, he is notoriously infertile. In a ton of scenes he mentions he’s shooting blanks while finishing inside of his partner. This got repetitive fast and made the fucking less sexy.

Sex positions range from cowgirl to doggystyle. Blowjobs and titfucks are rare. There is rarely any foreplay or buildup. Drake gets horny and randomly forces himself onto people. Although the visuals are good, I would have preferred more buildup over sporadic intercourse

As an exploration title, there aren’t any NPCs to befriend or attack. Almost all dialogue occurs in sex scenes, with no deep explanations to why things are happening.

The janitor is a pervert, the thieves breaking into the school are horny, and your fellow classmate wants pussy too! There are occasionally other people in the school, yes, but their purpose is only to have sex with you!

GAMEPLAY

School Escape was created with RPG Maker MV. There is no way to hide text boxes or rapidly skip text. At best, you can hold the enter key to speed up dialogue a bit.

As an exploration title, the experience consists mostly of walking the halls and finding items to help you progress. Some have called this a puzzle title, but this is more like a scavenger hunt. Find keys for doors and batteries for your flashlight. It’s a super simple game.

As is common for the RPG Maker engine, music is sometimes out of sync, and image transitions can stutter. Still, the game overall is well put together and remains enjoyable. Sex scenes trigger whenever you enter a room without preparation. For example, you need to have a flashlight to enter the dark room without getting into a sexual encounter. And if you do everything correctly, instead of being fucked while stuck in a wall, you’ll be able to escape in time.

Finding keys, recipes, and hints can get tedious over time. I recommend using a walkthrough for when you get stuck, because trust me, you will. Also, save the game often! It is rare, but a sex scene can result in a game over.

GRAPHICS

The art is Japanese anime style. Kasumi is a slim and sexy student with great tits and thigh-high socks. She’s every man’s dream, a virgin schoolgirl soon to be deflowered!

There are 10 base CGs with numerous cut-in images to provide variety. Seven of these scenes have versions showing deflowering. Scenarios range from peeping in people having sex to a POV shot of Kasumi blowing dick.

The gallery is only available from the main menu, while the pause menu indicates if Kasumi was deflowered or not. The entire game takes place in a school, so there’s very little to discuss. It’s chairs and desks all the way, the world gets claustrophobic over time.

My favorite feature of the visuals is the motion blur that occurs during heavy thrusting. All of sudden, you feel a ton of motion and movement as Kasumi is getting her insides stirred up. It felt so realistic, I loved it.

VOICE ACTING AND SOUND EFFECTS (SFX)

Kasumi and Hanako are fully voiced by Seiki Fan and Jemiko Yamada. Hanako is the petite little cutie pie with a high-pitched voice, while Kasumi has a more standard schoolgirl moan that makes any man hard and horny. The lines in this game are fantastic. When Kasumi said “You have a filthy smelly cock”, I almost came in my pants! I love realistic dirty talk, and the facial expressions made this ten times hotter.

Sound effects are generally stock assets. You hear doors opening, clicking, sexual thrusting sounds, they’re all fantastic. There’s even a vaguely bubbly sound when cum is filling a pussy. For a short game like this, these basic sound clips are the perfect fit.

There are 24 songs on the soundtrack, most of which are commonly used by this developer. Digitally synthesized chimes and beeps are only used alongside real instruments, making for a perfectly balanced experience. A piano track may develop over time to include a 16-bit melody alongside drum cymbals and string instruments. The music was so beautiful, it belonged in an anime opening! STORY

This is one of the best written stories I’ve ever read. The cuckolding content is used to emphasize the despair of the characters. Marco is forced to watch his beloved Cecilia get used and abused, and there’s nothing he can do about it. The game gets so depressing, many players refuse to finish it.

The DLSite store page itself mentions that the game offers two playthroughs, but that had a double meaning. There are two stories because you can choose your character at the start of the game and play through their eyes. There’s also two stories, because completing the base-game unlocks the true route and ending.

Spoiler alert! Just as God redeems people and cleanses them of sin, so too does The Promised Rosary. Using it, Marco travels back in time to redo this entire game. He protects Cecilia from despair, and keeps her safe like he promised to. The first playthrough of the game is meant to be depressing, so you can truly appreciate the second playthrough. I’m leaving out tons of details, but trust me, the ending is like something from a Hollywood movie. I loved every minute and cried like a baby.

GAMEPLAY

Promised Rosary was created with RPG Maker VX Ace. Move with the arrow keys and press Q to view the text log. Press W to hide the text box. Press CTRL to skip text.

The game cycle is very simple. Walk through the wilds until you arrive at a town and get sexually harassed by the guards, the innkeeper, and the local employer. Then have sex with mercenaries and travel to the next town. This repeats about five times.

The game has battles, but the experience points and gold rewards are so tiny, it’s better to avoid fighting. The main content of the game is the dialogue and the sex scenes.

At the start of the game you can choose which character you control. This changes dialogue slightly and creates some replay value. The game has over four hours of content, depending on if you speak to NPCs or not.

GRAPHICS

The artwork is Japanese anime style. Variation images such as sweat and cum are drawn on characters’ bodies to convey the progression of sex scenes. There are about 30 sex scenes in total, though CGs tend to repeat. From skirt flips to removing panties, some CGs repeat back to back, making things very obvious and less enjoyable.

All other sound effects were standard and good, it was only during the sexual content where things go downhill.

MUSIC

There are 15 musical tracks in total. The main menu has choir music which matches the religious symbolism in game. It sets a good tone to start the game, which the experience sadly doesn’t live up to.

A single track plays through the majority of the game. It’s a gentle song featuring a flute alongside violin. It fits dialogue sequences, exploring town, and other basic moments. But sadly, the music does not change for sex scenes. Meaning, you’ll hear this same relaxing melody while Cecilia is crying from being deflowered. It’s absurdly bad design.

The game redeems itself at the ending with a beautiful guitar lullaby that matches the twist ending. It genuinely made my eyes water. Like the writing, the developer seems to love contrasting the tedium of despair with the fleeting, fanciful moments of hope. It’s nice, but a single track cannot save the game.

There are about 30 scenes in total. Many scenes involving monster sex can be easily missed, but thankfully the recollection room is unlocked upon completing the game. From there you can view all scenes, regardless of whether you found them or not. There is only one missing scene, a bonus scene, that can only be accessed via the true ending.

The writing in this game is very minimal. There isn’t even a skip text function, because conversations are so few and far between.

Red is the only survivor of the hero force called “The Impressions”. Outside of an intel station at HQ, Red is all alone. There are no item vendors or friendly NPCs. As an untrained newbie, Red is overwhelmed. But by the time you rescue your friends and fight the final boss, Red is a confident and strong hero.

The enemy faction is called “The Dirties” and act pretty generic. They feel like social rejects and want to take down the popular establishment of society protected by The Impressions. There wasn’t any buildup or depth to this, so the villains seem like they just want to cause trouble for the fuck of it. The story is not very engaging, to say the least.

GAMEPLAY

Red’s Impressions Rescue was created with RPG Maker VX Ace. You move with the arrow keys and press ‘Z’ to interact with things. There is no dialogue skip. Press ‘W’ to hide the text box.

While story and appearances are forgettable, the actual gameplay is fantastic! You’re killing enemies and searching their corpses for healing items and skill potions. And that’s only the first dungeon! The game has so much more to offer!

There are three skill trees: Combat, magic attack, and magic defense. As you level up and consume skill potions, you gain skill points that you distribute to the trees. Specializing in one skill tree can make you a total powerhouse, but is that a smart decision?

Spoiler alert! The third region of the dungeon shuts down all magical power! Instead of robes, you better switch to some power armor! Playing the game without magic really changed things up and I loved it!

Meanwhile, the second region is filled with traps and pitfalls! You’ll need a puzzle scope to locate them all. And even after you do, there’s still the problem of finding your way around the traps and into the next room!

Engaging combat, interesting puzzles, and an in-depth skill system make this game an instant hentai gaming classic. It has tons of replay value depending on your playstyle! Personally, next time I’m going for a no-magic playthrough!

While a single playthrough will take two hours, that’s only a virgin run! If you track down all the scenes and try out every skill, this title evolves into a super enjoyable four hour experience.

On the bright side, the world design is fantastic. A variety of enemy sprites are used in and out of battle, most of which are unique and given flashy abilities of their own. For example, the clown has a naughty laser beam that no other enemy can use.

As she takes damage, Red’s clothes will slowly tear apart. Similarly, certain dungeon regions give Red unique outfits, ie. the sandy cavern zone gives her rags. The visual variety of her clothing makes the game a much more enjoyable experience.

VOICE ACTING AND SOUND EFFECTS (SFX)

Red’s Impressions Rescue has no voice acting.

The sound effects are all from the stock RPG maker library. Sadly, many of them are underused. The other members of The Impressions can use wind and water magic, but Red is always restricted to flame magic. When it comes to sound design, things can get repetitive fast. Still, it fits the setting of a dungeon crawler, so I don’t mind.

MUSIC

There are over 200 songs in this game, most of which are stock music not original to the game. While a big soundtrack sounds nice, most of these songs are only used once in specific situations.

The music in this game is a liability. The moment you hear the title music, you immediately think the game is a generic and forgettable pile of garbage. It’s a stock track you hear in tons of other RPG Maker games. The moment I heard it, I thought this game would suck. It turns out the gameplay was great, and it’s only the music that sucks.

You will be treated to generic stock tracks with digitally synthesized beats, that get repetitive in spite of a large library. There is little to praise here. The shoddy music is better than silence – that’s it.

There are only ten sex scenes in total, all of which are defeat scenes. This means that good players will never see them all. And without a hint guide, even if you’re looking for them, you may struggle to locate them all.

There are between 6-8 choices in total. All choices are about consenting to sex or escaping from it. The ending is not dependent on your choices. Rather, you can make whatever decisions you want and manually choose which ending you get.

GRAPHICS

The art is classic Japanese anime style. The screen is tinted in shades of pink and purple during sex scenes.

There are 20 CGs spread across 17 scenes. This would be acceptable if more variations were used, but sadly that’s not the case. Many sex scenes use the same static image for ten minutes without changing. Of course the voice acting and dialogue are good, but people who focus on visuals will be disappointed.

There are is not enough sprite art. Most characters get a single image for dialogue scenes, with no change in expressions. Your character could have just escaped their abusive father, but they’ll be grinning like a psychopath. Not only does it kill immersion, it’s just plain silly.

The best friend of the main character is a student named Takafumi, yet he looks like a 40 year old man! I thought maybe he was the teacher, but nope! When dialogue and expectations are shattered by visuals, you know there’s a problem.

Sound effects are fitting and sometimes unexpectedly real. Especially in scenes where the father abuses his family, you can hear every strike. This creates a sense of tension and realism that few other games dare aspire for. It might be disturbing, but the point of sound design is to convey emotions.

MUSIC

The soundtrack includes eight songs, most of which are unique to this developer or specific title.

Bass guitar and drums dominate the music, with other instruments like electric piano also being used. Sometimes this fits, other times it’s complete nonsense. Like when you’re tied up with jumper cables on your nipples, you hear a soft harp and electric piano. It seems like the developer wanted to avoid stock tracks and used badly fitting music instead.

Seitenkan features 20 CGs spread across 17 scenes. Each scene has a base image with very few, if any, variations.

The story offers a great premise that never really pays off. The main character, Annefitryte, controls the Red Agate of the Beserker. It makes her immortal, but she is trapped within the borders of her nation. She must travel around and find the other four magic stones and their wielders in order to lift this curse and finally be able to return home. Although this sounds cool, the execution is lackluster.

Excessive level grinding and tedious traveling is mandatory between every plot point. The quest log is disorganized, so it’s hard to keep track of things. And of course, the story is written as a generic RPG with no surprises to be found.

There are five endings in total, three of which require virginity. This is never told to you, meaning if you accidentally lose it, you’ve locked yourself out of most endings. Worse still, the true ending requires zero infamy. If you accidentally gain even a tiny bit, you’ll be locked out of the true ending permanently.

The writer does a great job of foreshadowing, but story points are so spread out, it doesn’t flow naturally. You’ll hear about the Capital City Slums and the Battle Arena from NPC dialogue, but it’ll be a long time before you actually see them yourself.

GAMEPLAY

Knights of the Phantasm was created with RPG Maker XP, an old but reliable edition of the engine. Use the arrow keys to move. Press Shift to enter battle stance. Press S to swing your sword. Press D to use your magic. Press A to fast travel or wait in place. Press Alt+Enter to go fullscreen. The game cycle is simple: Defeat enemies and collect their item drops to sell for cash. Level up and buy new equipment to advance further. Check your quest log if you need direction.

The game starts out promising, but level grinding and walking around will consume most of your time. There is a crime and bounty system, the ability to play as a vampire, the optional 21 side quests, a lock-picking mini-game, and so much more. Sadly, most of your time will be spent level-grinding, which overshadows these great features.

The lockpicking mini-game in particular deserved to be fleshed out more. Rather than visually, the game is played audibly. If the lock makes a pitch too low or too high, you know to pull away your lockpick. However, if it lands perfectly in the middle, you know there’s a balance and you can open the door. Auditory mini-games are great because they’re so unusual and require such focus, but sadly, theft in this game isn’t well executed. Many houses have nothing at all inside, making you waste lockpicks for nothing, discouraging exploration.

This game is an action RPG, not turn based. You can play skillfully and defeat enemies many levels higher than you. Enemies roam the map screen, and you always have the option to avoid combat entirely!

Certain quests in this game are borderline impossible to complete without a walkthrough. The world is so vast, I literally spent a full hour looking for my quest objective. There are fundamental flaws in the player experience.

GRAPHICS

The art is Japanese anime style. The colors tend to be muted, with a heavy emphasis on earth tones and eggshell white. This creates a bland aesthetic, and makes the game seem far older than it actually is.

There are thousands of visual assets in this game spread across 44 scenes. This is because most scenes offer different artworks depending on which outfit you’re wearing. Not to mention clothing damage and facial expressions! The developer paid attention to little details, and made an immersive experience that allows different playstyles.

The in-game sprite will change depending on your outfit, and may even change how people treat you in-game. For example, wearing your prisoner clothing will get guards to pay special attention to your character.

You’ll see small animations from time to time. For example, there’s a pixel animated sex scene in the bath-house. Another example is a moving CG hand during the train groping scene. Although these animations are few and far between, they make for a welcome change of pace that wonderfully spices things up.

The world map is huge. There are 12 towns and numerous caves and other miscellaneous areas to explore. Each town has multiple NPCs to talk to, some of which will even give you quests. The world feels alive.

VOICE ACTING AND SOUND EFFECTS (SFX)

The sound effects are either too old to be recognized or completely unique to this developer. Most notably, the sound effect for vaginal sex was super realistic and erotic. All tracks fit the theme of exploration and independence perfectly, though they can get repetitive while level grinding. Altogether, it’s a super enjoyable soundtrack that fills me with nostalgia whenever I hear the songs.

So now that we’ve established that these are perfectly normative fantasies, you have to decide how to go about carrying one out safely and sanely. It’s important you lay out and play by a set of ground rules, for two reasons. First, you don’t want to injure your partner physically or emotionally (beyond what you mutually agree upon), and second, there are significant legal and life-changing consequences if your actions go beyond what you’ve agreed upon and escalate to the point of a true rape.

How Do We Go About Carrying Out a Rape Fantasy Scenario?

One of the main problems with a guy bringing this up is that you may not be aware of any past trauma your partner may have experienced. So your “out of the blue” bringing this subject up may open up some old wounds that are best left alone.

Rape Fantasy Play Involving Strangers/Random Hookups

An alternative to playing with a partner is through the cooperation of a stranger or random hookup. I don’t think I have to expend too much effort explaining all of he potential things that could go wrong here, and I hesitate to even bring it up. But I have seen people ask questions on forums and other social websites regarding how to find someone to “rape” them, so at least a cursory discussion is warranted.

Finding someone to do this will be hard, largely because anyone with any sense realizes that it could be a trap, or that, even if it’s not a trap, the “victim” could later recant and claim that it was an actual rape. I’d recommend using a dating or social site that verifies identities of those who use it if you elect to go this route.

If you and a stranger decide to go through with something like this, arrange a video chat and record it. As a part of this, discuss what you want to happen, the guidelines and limitations, and the fact that you’re both consenting to what’s about to take place. Keep in mind that in some places (especially in countries other than the U.S.), consent to being “raped” doesn’t exist. That means the person doing the attacking can be legally charged with a crime even if the “victim” tells the authorities that it was an arrangement and that she consented to everything that happened.

I highly, highly recommend against using a stranger to carry out this kind of scenario in the absence of some controls or verifications of authenticity of those involved (from both sides).

Possible Scenarios

Once you’ve decided to go through with this sort of thing, and have set the boundaries, you’ll want to discuss a specific scenario in some cases. Perhaps you wish to leave it open ended and allow the “rapist” to attack you whenever and wherever, and that’s fine. These scenarios are provided simply to foment discussion between you and your partner and to give you some ideas for things you might try.

• Home Attack: This is perhaps the easiest to pull off and the least fraught with potential issues. This simply involved the rapist “breaking in” to the victim’s house and carrying out the attack. Unless you get really wild and noisy, or attract some undue attention while breaking in, you shouldn’t have to worry about causing yourself any problems as a result of neighbors or a random police patrol.
• Work Attack: This is likely only feasible in a situation where the victim is the owner of a business or owns/works in a facility that doesn’t have security monitoring equipment or other people around. If you work in a typical office setting, it’s a safe bet that there are video cameras around that might capture anything you do, which could land you in trouble from an employment standpoint as well as a legal standpoint.
• Jogging Attack: This involves authorizing the attack somewhere along a jogging route. Your attacker simply lies in wait for you to come by, then “abducts” you into the woods, rapes you, and leaves you there (be sure and work out how you’re going to get home). Again, this is one of those situations where some undue attention by a passerby might create legal issues for you, so if you elect to use this, do so where you know you’ll have some privacy.
• Other Abduction Attacks: You can construct any number of possible scenarios using a public abduction. After Care
