STORY
Dress Up Traveller kicks off by showing the nameless main character lying butt naked in the middle of nowhere. She is a simple hick girl, typically eager to get out of the small town and find adventure – probably looking for as much cock as possible. Apparently, one of those know-it-all teens, running off into the wild with no real experience. Thought that just owning a sword and shield makes you a warrior. You dear reader, I’m sure, are terribly surprised she got her brains fucked out by the first monster who then left her to die in the wilderness. Didn’t even think her ass is worth enough to drag her along as a sex slave, even though she was easily defeated.
Just as she resigns herself to dying a pathetic death, she gets saved by the local shop-keeper lady. For pity or lust, she takes this young pussy under her wing and indulges her, as the little bird learns to fly on her own and doesn’t cut her own tits with that sword. She either learned nothing from almost dying or is really desperate for monster cock at all costs. Seems like the ready availability of human dick back in the village is not as interesting as being fucked by the bees and slimes of the world.
There’s no story to speak of. The focus is on the player running around doing quests, earning gold to level up and clearing levels to unlock pixelated monster hentai. There is the occasional dialogue between the two sole characters, but it’s just fluff to get the player to go on quests given by the shopkeep. We also get some minor characterization when you finish the game, but there’s no build-up whatsoever.
The lack of a story is alright. You can focus on playing and unlocking the lewd scenes. With how low it’s priced, I think it was a good move to ditch making a story and focus on the rest. We’ve seen enough generic stories crammed in for the sake of it.
GRAPHICS
I’m a sucker for pixel art, and this game has quite a nice style that’s pleasant to look at. The characters and monsters are rendered in small anime caricatures, but they’re heavily stylized to look good. The girl is especially gorgeous, having a fine pair of breasts and a slim body that looks good in her various outfits.
As the name of the game implies, you can dress your character in different outfits. The number of customization options for hairstyles, facial expressions and so on, are fairly small. They are 3 to 8 variations for each, which should be enough to customize to something nice. Personally, I gave her the appearance of a sultry older sister.
Backgrounds in the game are plain. They contain enough detail to let the player know where they are, but they’re not too good to look at. The worse offender is the item’s shop, with its flat beige walls and boring furniture. The game levels look similar, but they are a bit better thanks to their eye-popping color palette.
SOUND EFFECTS AND VOICE ACTING (SFX)
The game has minimal voice acting in the form of your character’s grunts, moans and whimpers. You can choose between three types of voices, varying between sultry, young and cute. Text is not narrated, but it doesn’t affect the experience since dialogue is sparse.
There are sound effects, but you only hear them if your character is attacking, receiving damage and getting drilled in her holes. They seem to be generic stock sounds, and they are reused throughout the game.
MUSIC
Dress Up Traveller has a sparse soundtrack. Each song will constantly loop until you get sick of it. On the bright side, you get to hear a different track per dungeon, giving you some variety.
For example, the first dungeon is set on grassy plains. Players are treated to an upbeat song that mixes acoustic and electronic music. The track highlight is the guitar and the crispy bass, along with the percussion instruments in the background. Meanwhile, the second dungeon throws you into a creepy and dark forest, and the song that plays is eerie, accompanied by desolate rings of a faraway bell.
I didn’t expect much from the soundtrack, but it does manage to set the mood throughout the game.
GAMEPLAY
Dress Up Traveller is simple to play. The game allows both keyboard and mouse, but you’ll find yourself on the keyboard majority of the time. The arrow keys control your character. ‘Z’ is used to attack while ‘X’ is used to defend. You only get one type of attack, which you’ll have to use over and over to defeat your enemies.
The game is something like a generic side-scrolling beat-em-up. There are three dungeons to conquer, each with three to four levels. Stages are fairly short. When defeating a monster, you can obtain materials and gold. Gold is used to level your character. Among other things, loot is crafted into new outfits, weapons, and shields.
The downside of having an easy combat system is that things get grindy. Thankfully, the hentai aspect makes it less of a drag. Clothing gets torn from your character when you take damage. Clearly, the girl is in total danger of being fucked once fully naked – in case you haven’t played these kinds of games before.
HENTAI
Dress Up Traveller has 9 types of enemies, each with its own hentai scene to fap to your heart’s content. These animations are fairly short, but they include some great quality of life touches. For example, you have the option to adjust the speed of the action. You also get ‘timestamps’ which can be used to jump to the different moments, like the exact time a character gets filled with monster cum.
In addition, the game also includes four full-sized hentai scenes. You unlock them as rewards for defeating the boss for each level. They’re beautifully made, and most importantly, can be looped into infinity.
CONCLUDING WORDS
For the price of a shitty Starbucks coffee, you get to experience a decent pixel hentai game with enjoyable content. While the soundtrack and audio are nothing too amazing, this title a must-buy for fans of pixel art. The tasteful art with the addition of arousing hentai animations make Dress Up Traveller an easy recommendation for every horny gamer out there.
