Sakura Fantasy, a yuri hentai visual novel developed by Winged Cloud. Released May 29, 2015. Available for PC Windows and Linux. Download on Nutaku’s digital store for $10.00. No voice acting. Uncensored genitals.

This relatively old game was one of the first Sakura games ever released. It was one of the creator’s most popular titles that helped catapult Winged Cloud into the top studio of the western hentai scene.

We’ve reviewed the following other titles from this developer: Sakura Space, Sakura Santa, Sakura Halloween, Sakura Dungeon, Sakura Gamer, Sakura Nova, Sakura MMO, Sakura MMO 2.

STORY

Raelin is a novice knight in training. She’s friends with a blonde beauty with curly hair and giant tits named Gwynne. Their instructor is Keira, a veteran knight that’s training them both into obedient killing machines in service of the empire. The wilderness surrounding the castle is infested with murderous monsters that attack anybody that dares venture out. Raelin works hard and gets promoted into a guardsman of the castle. There, she meets the immortal empress of the kingdom.

The empress named Ardena is a white-haired woman whose looks betray her age. After finding her black pet cat, Raelin forms a shallow relationship with Ardena, which later allows her access to critical information that advances the plot. The empress is mysterious, and speaks in riddles. Right before it happens, she advises Raelin to look to the stars at night, for a star may fall.

That night, true enough, a star falls from the sky. Knights in Raelin’s training regime panic, as it’s an omen of great changes to come. The mysteries don’t end with the star, as Raelin possesses the power of farseeing. She can spy on other people without them knowing. She can see into places far away, and wet little holes around the kingdom.

The empress Ardena orders the formulation of a searching party, whose quest is to investigate the whereabouts of the fallen star. It’s a dangerous mission, and the characters wrestle with their fear of death before engaging in spontaneous lesbian sex. They train their bodies and their genitals for a full month for the coming adventure. They go, and slime monsters eat their panties.

The tone of the story is like watching an anime: The mood goes from mysterious to serious to hilarious in a heartbeat. One moment the girls are talking about the evanescence of mortal existence, next scene they’re digging each others’ pussies, gasping in the throes of explosive orgasms donning wide goofy smiles.

The story takes a good while with building the world and the relationships before any sword battles with demonic monsters. The battles are entertaining, and I wish there’d been more of them earlier into the game. I also wish the writer had the balls to kill off characters, to create a real sense of danger. You already established a world full of mystery, magic, rife with sex and ultra violence. The only thing missing, to make it all feel that much more visceral, is a good, heart-rending death at the very start. Also, the ending is very abrupt.

GAMEPLAY

Sakura Fantasy is a visual novel. You advance the story by clicking the screen. You are presented with several choices during play that take the story into different directions. There are multiple endings. You can save your progress into several save slots.

GRAPHICS

The artwork in Sakura Fantasy is top notch. Character art is plump anime girls. If you’re a fan of this artstyle, it’s been the same since 2014. I particularly enjoyed the girls’ glossy tit cracks that reflect light, as if somebody rubbed wax into their mammary glands. Their clothes and armor have intricate designs that accentuate their feminine physiques, maximizing the eroticism. Cleavage is exposed.

Backgrounds are full of exquisite details. As visual storytelling goes, the world is immersive. Outside the castle is the most beautiful, with big towers behind a wall, and spiky things. There’s also natural environments like swamps and forests. The art overall looks great, but I can’t shake the feeling that the artist was implanting 3D assets into the backgrounds.

MUSIC

The opening theme is a mystical song played with real instruments, dominated by a serene piano and violin. The whimsical riff transitions into a sexy adventurous beat that goes through highs and lows. It really got me in the mood for a fantasy romance with thicc lesbian babes. The second song that plays immediately after starting the game features a romantic guitar and the gentle beat of bongo drums. There’s also a melancholic song for night-time scenes, and a romantic tune for the erotic segments. The song for battles is dark and foreboding; When you finally get to the part where the girls are fighting monsters, you’ll hear the most amazing orchestral track with piano and cellos in the style of HBO’s Game of Thrones TV series. Knowing Winged Cloud’s track record with soundtracks, I was surprised they included a song so dark into a cutesy ecchi game.

The soundtrack is competently composed, and has enough personality and variety to entertain you outside of the context of the game. Its quality is a step above the soundtracks of other Sakura games I’ve written about.

VOICE ACTING AND SOUND EFFECTS (SFX)

Sakura Fantasy has no voice acting. Meanwhile, there are plenty of sound effects, like when they strip from their armors, their clothes rustle. Monsters growl in a beastly ear-crushing manner. Swords give out reaping thunks when hitting wood, or flesh. There’s select sounds of nature too, like the crackling of thunder, people slipping. I wish there was even more audio, because what was included is damn good. It left me hungry for more. The sex scenes lack audio like the squishy sound that a woman’s vagina makes when you finger her throbbing slit. If you’re gonna have a lesbian porn game, you have no excuse not to include at least one good squishy sound.

HENTAI

The game is mostly ecchi. Raelin eavesdrops on her girlfriends with her special ability, which is just an excuse to show anime titties without context. In fact, almost none of the fap-worthy images have any context attached to them. Suddenly, you’re staring at the naked cleavage of a girl. The CGs rarely depict two girls engaged in sexual activities. Genitals are hidden in almost every image – the content gets more pornographic later on. The art is great in its own right, but it’s more often ecchi than raunchy. If you have any emotional connection with the characters, you may just blow a load at the visage of the barely covered bodies of your waifus. When they get naked and start fucking each others’ brains out, you may just blow another load. There’s a chance, no legal guarantees.

Perhaps the most erotic scene in the game involves (spoilers: highlight with mouse to reveal) the chocolate baths. Raelin and Keira want to indulge in hedonism before venturing out into the dangerous wilderness to investigate the fallen star. They go to the merchant area in town, where they have a chocolate bath together.

CONCLUDING WORDS

Sakura Fantasy is a mildly erotic game with a great soundtrack, and an almost engaging storyline. If you’re in the market for safe and chill hentai fap fuel, this game is the least triggering sexual experience out there. The writing is without technical flaws, and the medieval fantasy world is interesting enough that you’d love to spend more time exploring its every nook, cranny, and cave.

I recommend this to barely legal anime fappers with identity problems. Download Sakura Fantasy.
